There's a choice of two oh so lovely and cosy sitting-rooms, both with warming wood-burners, inviting you to chill out and relax and the end of the day after discovering all the delights this area has to offer. Quay House is the ideal Cornish escape, not only for blissful summers spent exploring, but also for dreamy winter hideaways.

Time for bed and the four stylish bedrooms, with their super comfy beds and luxury linens, will assure a good night's sleep. Bedroom one embraces the setting, with a subtle nautical theme and a super-king double bed - what a treat! Another super-king double awaits in bedroom two which can also be set up as a twin bedded room, offering great flexibility.

The family bathroom is also on this floor, with a bath for those leisurely evening soaks, and a separate shower and there's also another shower-room on the ground floor.

Head outside and the delights continue. Accessed up a few steps the sunny terrace invites you to enjoy al fresco dining and chilling out in the hot tub, oh yes, there's a hot tub as well! The lush lawned garden is a real treat for a cottage so close to the harbour and the perfect spot to soak up the sunshine and get lost in the pages of your chosen holiday read. Trust us, you'll be slipping into holiday mode in no time!

There's a certain magic and charm to the historic village of Charlestown, and there's lots to explore from your doorstep - so if you fancy a week off driving, you've picked the right place. Charlestown has a fantastic selection of coffee shops, pubs, restaurants and street food pop ups so you certainly won't be short of places to eat! There's a lovely restaurant across the lane from Quay House which is a fabulous place to enjoy a cocktail and a delicious dinner. Charlestown also has a selection of stylish boutique shops and galleries if you fancy a spot of retail therapy. Warm summer evenings can be spent wandering along the very pretty harbour, marvelling at the historic tall ships whilst picking up a treat from one of the street food stalls, before heading back to your beautiful getaway for a dip in the hot tub. Bliss…

If you're in search of those breathtaking coastal views synonymous with Cornwall lace up your walking boots, pack a picnic and head out for a scenic walk along the coastal path - your pampered pooch will be in their element. Or enjoy lazy days on the beach, building sandcastles and taking the odd dip in the crystal clear waters. If you're a Poldark fan, Charlestown was one of the favoured locations for filming the popular TV series, so you can seek out the filming locations and walk in the footsteps of Poldark himself!

If you do fancy venturing further afield St Austell Bay is dotted with a number of golden sand beaches and there's a fantastic choice of gardens to visit, including Heligan, Pinetum, Marsh Villa and of course, The Eden Project. The stylish sailing town of Fowey is nearby, and is well worth a visit for its restaurants, cafes, boutiques and galleries or perhaps to kayak up the river to the little village of Lerryn, said to be the inspiration of Kenneth Graham's Wind in the Willows.

So if you fancy days swimming in the sea, cosying up by the wood-burner , stomping along the coastal path, wandering around the harbour popping into the shops and galleries and treating yourself to the odd pint of local ale and plate of Cornish hospitality, then this is the retreat for you - but don't hang around as we are sure it will be on everyone's wish list!
