Welcome to Greystones, a delightful stone-built cottage perfectly situated in the rolling green pastures of north Devon yet a short journey away from the fabulous beaches of both north Devon and Cornwall. Town Farm is a small collection of properties centred around a cobbled courtyard, which share lovely outside space including an apple orchard where your dog can run free. Light up the barbecue and fire-pit and enjoy dinner while watching the sunset, or just sit on one of the wooden benches to soak up the countryside atmosphere, this really is a place to relax and unwind.
The lovely interiors of Greystones are evident from the moment you step over the threshold. The sitting-room has beautiful exposed beams, lovely soft furnishings and the most gorgeous fireplace with a wood-burner, perfect for keeping you toasty during cooler months. The floor length sash windows look out into the garden and you can sit and watch wildlife all day if you wish. The galley kitchen is bright and modern and leads up a step into the separate dining-room where you can sit and plan the day ahead over breakfast. Climb the grand stairs to the first floor where two pretty bedrooms await. The main bedroom is elegantly furnished in muted pastel shades. Bedroom two is also pretty as a picture and looks out over the surrounding countryside, being a 'zip and link' room you can choose between a twin or a glorious super-king bed. The family shower-room is on this floor, just the ticket for washing salty toes after a day on the beach.
The cottage has a lovely, enclosed garden that looks out over the woods and really does offer the perfect spot for your morning cuppa whilst the rest of the family are fast asleep, we know that the bird song will delight and will become the best start to any day! In addition, the orchard at Town Farm is shared with guests staying at The Granary however there is oodles of space for everyone - even the local bats that take flight as the sun sets - with the courtyard being the perfect spot to watch nature at it's best. Stroll to your heart's content in the orchard whilst the dogs play freely - they might even have a playdate with the owners dogs! You are also invited to enjoy the owners private upper woodland walk, a real treat for those nature lovers. Or simply sit on the wooden bench and absorb the sounds of the countryside all around. In the evenings watch the sunset by the fire-pit or perhaps use the barbecue for some al fresco dining, the perfect end to the day. With private parking for two cars and easy access to many fabulous beaches close by, you will feel well and truly at home at Greystones.
Along with a traditional clome oven there is shared access to a guest utility-room, offering not only handy additional storage but also a washing machine, tumble-drier and freezer (with a dedicated drawer for Greystones' guests). Being dog lovers, everything has been considered with two dog crates which can be borrowed and used in Greystones. You will also find lots of throws that can be used on the furniture so the family dog can enjoy snuggles at the end of the day allowing you to really feel at home during your stay. There is also a shared games barn with table football and air hockey to keep everyone entertained.
The friendly owners and their lovely dogs Flint and Tarka are perfectly placed in the adjoining farmhouse should you need any assistance, but are also happy to let you enjoy your holiday without interruption and delight in all that this wonderful location has to offer!
Greystones is one of two fabulous properties at Town Farm, the other being The Granary (4904) so if you are looking for a holiday as a larger group Greystones and The Granary can be booked together and have a handy interconnecting door.
Greystones is surrounded by glorious rolling north Devon countryside, whilst being located on the border of north Cornwall and there is easy access to the delights of the north coast. Holsworthy is a pretty market town a short drive a way and a great place to grab those holiday provisions. Roadside stalls are great for stocking up on fresh produce, ideal for some holiday cooking. A little further away the delights of the coast await. Bude is renowned for its fabulous beaches and is a mecca for surfers. Walkers will enjoy miles of coast path and on foot is the best way to discover the many hidden coves, sandy beaches and dramatic clifftops of the north coast. Boscastle is as pretty as a picture and or perhaps visit Tintagel, home to the legendary King Arthur and where you can see his impressive statue overlooking the Atlantic.
