This lovely holiday home is perfectly situated just a stone's throw from the centre of the quintessential seaside village of Portscatho, with stunning seascapes and the wonders of the Roseland on your doorstep.
The village of Portscatho has all the ingredients for the perfect holiday and from the moment you arrive at this fabulous, detached house you will feel instantly at home. The sitting-room is light and bright with super comfy sofas and lovely furnishings. Access to the fabulous deck is from the sitting-room so you can step out and enjoy the view any time of day. The wood-burner will keep you cosy during cooler months, making this an ideal place for a getaway all year round. The kitchen has a lovely bay window with views over the rooftops to the ocean. A bistro table is perfectly placed to watch the sea and keep an eye on the chef! The separate dining-room is just the place to gather the troops to chat about the adventures of the day.
Climb the stairs to the first floor and you will discover three bedrooms, all with comfy beds to ensure a great night's sleep and tastefully furnished in soft white shades. Bedroom one is a king-size double with a dreamy view over Portscatho to the sea, and the benefit of a lovely en suite shower-room. Bedroom two has three-foot twin beds and enjoys a sea view, and bedroom three is also a twin. These bedrooms share the family bathroom with a shower over the bath, so you can choose from a long soak after a day of adventures or a quick refreshing shower. The icing on the cake at Coastal View has to be the gorgeous deck. Running the length of the house, this is the perfect place to sit, take in the view and simply relax. Al fresco dining here is a must and there is a handy barbecue just waiting to be fired up. Coastal View is ideally situated and the perfect retreat for either a family or group of friends.
Portscatho is a fabulous place for a holiday and with everything so close at hand you may choose not to use a car during your stay here. The centre of the village is home to several eateries, cafes and pubs and the local grocery store can provide all your holiday essentials. The harbour is a magnet for children who will love to go crabbing off the sea wall. A short walk along the coast path you will discover the famous Hidden Hut, overlooking Porthcurnick beach. Sit on wooden benches and enjoy the freshest of local produce, just remember to book well ahead for feast nights. The coast path runs in both directions so pull on your walking boots and explore the many secret coves, dramatic cliffs and fabulous beaches the Roseland has to offer.
The bustling town of St Mawes is a short drive away where you can dine on fish and chips out of paper on the harbour wall or enjoy fine dining, there is plenty of choice when it comes to eating out! Perhaps a day of adventure is on the cards, and you can catch the passenger ferry from here to various local ports including cosmopolitan Falmouth where you can learn about the maritime history of the area at the Maritime Museum or perhaps buy souvenirs from one of the many interesting shops and boutiques. A little further away the mighty biomes of the Eden Project are worth a visit, or perhaps The Lost Garden of Heligan which lay to ruin until they were found and restored 30 years ago.
However you plan to spend your days you will look forward to returning to Coastal View, your relaxing holiday retreat.
