Dulcie is a sweet vardo, Burton gypsy caravan nestled in a quiet corner of the owners' working farm in the stunning setting of Somerset's Quantock Hills - a 9,500 acre Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

This adorable wagon has been lovingly restored and revamped to create a cosy and unique glamping experience. Brimming with traditional charm and character, this authentic travelling abode is perfect for a romantic getaway or an adult and child looking to experience something different. Treat yourself to an unforgettable stay and digital detox, away from the commotion of urban activity; a stay in Dulcie is the ideal tonic for those looking to get away from it all.

Inside Dulcie you'll find a super-cosy, raised double bed and just tucked away below there is a mattress, providing extra space for those who like to spread out or to accommodate a child. There's also a wood-burning stove, adding to the whole experience of this cosy snug. On chilly nights be sure to light this up and watch the flames flicker through the evening.

The site has been thoughtfully designed, with separate kitchen and bathroom huts sitting conveniently opposite Dulcie. There is even outside space to enjoy cooking on the barbecue or stargazing around the fire-pit, don't forget the marshmallows! The off-grid site offers in the kitchen, a two-ring gas hob, ample pots, pans and utensils and a cool box for those essentials. You also have the use of a small fridge located in the owners' studio kitchen. There is mains water via a standpipe, which also feeds the shower. The bathroom hut has a warm gas shower, basin and a Thetford porta loo.

Dulcie is wonderfully positioned over a charming narrow bridge, on the same site as her siblings Lamb's Tale Shepherd's Hut (3246) and Duck's Puddle Shepherd's Hut (4026). All abodes are set in their own areas and have great levels of privacy from each other. In this unique location you also have the option to book various beauty treatments and therapies from a fully qualified professional sports injury and beauty therapist. These treatments can take place in the purpose-built studio on site - please ask us if you are interested in booking and we will let you have all the details.

The Quantock Hills is a very special place with incredible vistas of woodland and open moorland. If you are a nature lover then you will be spoilt for choice, as there are so many opportunities to see wildlife in their natural habitat. Keen cyclists will also be in heaven, as there are a huge number of off-road areas to explore - there is even a track from the farm up into the hills. From the top of the hills, on a clear day, you can see right across the Bristol Channel to the hills of south Wales in one direction and across the Vale of Taunton towards Exmoor National Park in the other.

Just four miles away is the coast at Kilve with striking rock formations and sea-smoothed pebbles. For a sandy beach, head to Blue Anchor near Minehead and to make a day of it, be sure to head to Dunster which is a fascinating medieval town, dominated by a National Trust castle. Slightly further afield is the rugged beauty of Exmoor - if you visit in the summer then enjoy picnics near tranquil rivers or if autumn is your season, then cosy up in traditional pubs, in front of the fire.
