Tucked away in the heart of Mousehole, this oh-so-lovely little treasure is definitely one for the romantics, The Old Gallery is a simply gorgeous one bedroom cottage which has been lovingly restored from its previous life as an artist's studio, to offer an idyllic cosy love nest for two.

Step through the front door of The Old Gallery and you'll find yourself immediately immersed in the laid-back loveliness of the open plan living area. A soft blue sofa and a matching armchair complete with plenty of stylish cushions, ensure plenty of room to snuggle up on after a day out exploring. The kitchen is well proportioned for fantastic feasts with lovely wooden surfaces, built-in oven and ceramic hob. If you decide to buy your fish fresh off the boat from nearby Newlyn and cook it 'at home' there is a small table with chairs for dining 'a deux'. Take the stairs straight up into a large bright bedroom with king-sized bed, dressed with crisp white super soft linens. The sweet little bathroom has a bath which is perfect for indulging in either morning or night; enjoy a long hot soak with a glass of fizz - sheer decadence!

Tiny streets and a pretty harbour make Mousehole one of the cutest villages in Cornwall. Step out of your door and step straight into the heart of Mousehole. The village maintains its olde worlde charm, with narrow cobbled streets, slate roofs, whitewashed cottages and brightly coloured paint-work. It's perfect for foodies with a good selection of restaurants, cafes and delis, and is of course just a hop, skip and a jump to the renowned fishing village of Newlyn.

Among all the pretty towns and villages of west Cornwall, Newlyn feels the most authentic. To this very day, it remains home to one of the biggest fishing fleets in the UK and as such gives a unique insight into a proper Cornish fishing port. You can buy fish and seafood straight from the boats, or from one of the many fishmongers dotted along the street. Many famous artists have taken inspiration from Newlyn, and art lovers should visit the Newlyn Art Gallery, enjoy a leisurely mooch around the gallery followed by a delicious Cornish cream tea in the cafe afterwards overlooking Newlyn green.

Around this area there are many wonderful walks, the coastal path to Lamorna is one of the prettiest you will find anywhere in Cornwall. There is also a good bus service from the town which can help you explore the area as well.

If you can try and take in a trip to the world-famous open-air Minack Theatre, dramatically perched on the cliffs above Porthcurno, it's well worth a visit and even more magical if you can see a production or concert whilst there, but don't forget to take a warm snuggly blanket as it can get very chilly.
