Welcome to Pitt Farm Cottage, a beautifully styled detached holiday home nestled in the Tamar Valley in the pretty village of Gunnislake. The Tamar Valley is one of those delightful secret places people stumble upon almost by accident. This part of Cornwall is really special with woods lining riverbanks, home to some stunning wildlife, and quaint hidden away hamlets. Albaston is one such hamlet and tucked away down a small lane, delightful Pitt Farm Cottage awaits your arrival.
The cottage has been styled with relaxation and comfort in mind. Natural light floods every room and complements the far-reaching views down through the valley. Wake up in the morning and enjoy the sunrise from the raised balcony and watch the birds soar high in the sky. Accessed via the French doors from the open plan sitting/dining-room this is the perfect place for a morning coffee or an evening aperitif. This spacious room with comfy sofas benefits from a log-burner for those chillier nights and makes Pitt Farm Cottage the ideal holiday retreat for families and groups of friends at any time of year, with the benefit of owners as your helpful neighbour should you need to call upon them.
The well-equipped kitchen is on the ground floor, perfect for cooking up a holiday feast. A convenient shower-room is also on this level. There is a snug which is ideal for younger members of the family to watch a film on the Smart TV. Upstairs there are three pretty bedrooms which benefit from double-height vaulted ceilings allowing the rooms to feel spacious and luxurious. Two of the bedrooms have the added benefit of 'zip and link' beds giving greater flexibility and they also have fabulous views of the surrounding countryside. If you'd like to bring your bike and cycle one of the many trails in the area, there is a lockable outhouse where bikes can be stored. The local train station is just a five minute walk away, ideal for a car-free day exploring.
This welcoming property is ideally located for exploring both Cornwall and Devon. Perhaps a visit to the Eden Project with its fascinating biomes or The Lost Gardens of Heligan where you can spend the day wandering the estate. Cotehele the National Trust manor house, gardens and quay is not far away and should definitely be on your 'to do list'. The beautiful Cornish coast is only a short drive away where you can enjoy coastal walks and seaside villages, or perhaps a visit to Dartmoor to see the rugged landscape and ponies. However you choose to spend your holiday, you are assured a restful and relaxing time at Pitt Farm Cottage.
