Welcome to Greenways, a quintessential family holiday home nestled on the banks of the river Yealm on the edge of the village of Newton Ferrers. This beautifully styled home offers a little slice of heaven with views over rolling countryside from the back garden. The village is just a gentle downhill stroll away and you can be harbourside enjoying the estuary view at one of the locally renowned pubs in minutes, the walk home being a little on the steep side. Greenways offers the ideal location for exploring this stunning part of south Devon and once discovered this home will become a firm family favourite.
The gorgeous kitchen and dining space is a wonderful open plan area to gather the family around for breakfast feasts and sociable dinners discussing the day's adventures. Throw open the perfectly positioned patio doors to the garden and enjoy bringing the outside in with an ever-changing countryside picture throughout the seasons. The sitting-room, next to the kitchen, has comfy relaxing sofas, a Smart TV and warming wood-burner, creating the ideal chillout zone for all the family to sit back and relax after a day on the beach. An added bonus is the large utility area with washing facilities and a secure area for any outdoor gear.
The downstairs bedroom is ideal for younger members of the family with lots of space and a TV and PlayStation. This bedroom has a bunk-bed, with the top bunk a three foot single and the bottom being a sofa which folds out as a small double (recommended for children only and will be made up on request). Upstairs the three further beautiful bedrooms await. The main room (bedroom two) is very special with a sumptuous king-size bed, lovely countryside views and the added bonus of an en suite shower-room. The other two bedrooms are thoughtfully styled; bedroom three as a comfy double bed and bedroom four is a very pretty room with a cosy king-size double bed. The family bathroom is light and modern with a delightful bath for a soak after a long day on the beach.
Outside the large landscaped garden is a gorgeous place to soak up the sun and light the barbecue, the perfect setting for a sociable evening dining al fresco, chatting and playing whilst you truly relax into the holiday vibe.
The pretty village of Newton Ferrers lies opposite its slightly smaller neighbour Noss Mayo, on a delightful creek of the beautiful wooded estuary of the Yealm. The Yealm offers a picturesque setting with pretty waterside cottages, plentiful wildlife, and sailing vessels creating an idyllic scene no matter the season.
Newton Ferrers has an excellent pub, The Dolphin Inn, with ample beer garden overlooking the creek, cafe, and Post Office and store where you can pick up your morning croissants. Walkers will enjoy exploring the nearby coastline. Alternatively, cross to Noss Mayo, on foot at low tide or via the ferry at high tide, and take the 30 to 40 minute stroll through exceptionally pretty woodland to the pebble and sand Cellar beach, which has no dog restrictions.
Other beaches within a short drive include the family-friendly Wembury, the hidden gem of Mothecombe or a little further afield you can find Bigbury-on-Sea to name but a few.
Newton Ferrers is just 10 miles away from the maritime city of Plymouth with its bustling Barbican area, fascinating National Marine Aquarium, and the iconic Hoe and lighthouse with views across the harbour and out to sea.
