A stylish detached stone farmhouse nestled in a peaceful hamlet, Middle Dean Farmhouse is the perfect home for a family holiday. With easy access to the delights of the coast and Exmoor, an Area of Outstanding Beauty, there is plenty to explore from your doorstep.
The ground floor of the farmhouse has a wonderful natural flow with a beautifully country styled kitchen/diner at the heart of the property. This room certainly has the 'wow' factor, from its pendant lighting to all the modern conveniences including that all-important wine cooler! This room is spacious, dual-aspect and very much the social hub of the house. The dining-table is ideal for a family game of Monopoly or a fabulous Sunday roast! The main sitting-room offers a cosy retreat for the adults with a wood-burning stove to snuggle up to on cooler nights, whilst the children can play and enjoy the benefit of the snug and the sumptuous L-shaped sofa.
The first floor has five lovingly furnished bedrooms. With four out of the five bedrooms en suite there will be no morning queue for a bathroom, so you can get up and out of the door to the beach at Coombe Martin before the morning rush! Perfect for those long days of sea dips and building sandcastles.
The garden-area is accessed across the driveway and up four steps. The elevated garden has rather special views of the surrounding countryside during the day or on a clear night from the luxurious hot tub! Middle Dean Farmhouse sits within one of the top five dark skies locations in the UK. So you may be lucky enough to see the Milky Way, now that is a memory that would be treasured!
Middle Dean is ideally located and benefits from being positioned within Exmoor National Park. The coast paths are also only 10 minutes away with Combe Martin being a popular spot on the coast for small children to go rock pooling. You can also hire paddle boards and kayaks.
Woolacombe is one of the best sandy beaches in the West Country and is only a short drive away from the farmhouse. There's also Croyde and Saunton beach, all three are great for surfing. From your doorstep there's a multitude of walks and of course many a mile can be cycled! Horse riding is also an option with a local riding school simply two doors down from the farmhouse. You also have Combe Martin Dinosaur Park and Exmoor Zoo at Bratton Fleming less than 10 minutes away.
Further afield enjoy the delights of Lynton & Lynmouth, pretty villages on the coast where Exmoor meets the sea. The are plenty of boutique shop, cafes and they are connected via a Cliff (funicular) Railway. Look out for the wild goats that roam the valley of the rocks. You can hire telescopes from the tourist information at Lynmouth to use during your holiday. If you enjoy stargazing have a look at www.wildaboutexmoor.com they do guided walks and stargazing activities on Exmoor.
