Nestled in a gorgeous countryside setting on the Cornwall and Devon border with views across to Dartmoor, Kingfisher Barn at Netherbridge Lake is a delightful place for a couple's getaway anytime of the year. Sympathetically converted into a beautifully presented holiday home, this perfect retreat for two retains the charm of the original building. You are surrounded by countryside and fields with grazing livestock which will greet you on your morning walks around the lakes.
The light and cosy living-room with exposed feature stonework, is the perfect place to relax before cooking up a delicious supper or why not let someone else do the cooking and take a trip out to the local pub. If staying at home you can take a seat on the front terrace and lawned area to enjoy the wonderful views and on the other side of the barn, which is a real sun-trap on a summer's afternoon.
On the first floor you will find the beautiful double bedroom with a comfy super-king bed. For a family there is an additional day bed (3'), ideal for the smaller member of your family. A lovely thoughtfully furnished space, ideal to relax in at the end of a busy day. From the window gaze across the countryside views and on a clear night you may spot a star or two through the skylight above.
Kingfisher Barn is one of a selection of fabulous properties at this wonderful location including neighbouring Otter Barn (4582), Badger Barn (4583), Swift Barn (4585), Swallow Barn (4586) and Owl Barn (4606) so if you are looking to holiday as a larger group, you can book all six properties together.
Guests are free to wander the seven acres of shared grounds surrounding the barns to take in the fresh county air and maybe spot local wildlife or your woolly neighbouring sheep who may be grazing quietly in the lakeside paddock. Guests can fish for carp in one of the well-stocked lakes, or for those interested in more tranquil pursuits find yourself a place to sit by the side and just relax in this peaceful setting.
There is something here for guests of all ages and whatever time of the year; enjoy a tasty picnic lunch on one of the tables surrounding the lakes or spend time watching the ducks who share this wonderful location. Take a short walk to the banks of the River Tamar nearby but be sure to bring your walking boots or wellies as when exploring your surroundings or experiencing the delights of Dartmoor and Bodmin Moor the weather cannot be guaranteed!
