Nestled in a gorgeous countryside setting on the Cornwall and Devon border with views across to Dartmoor, Otter Barn at Netherbridge Lake is a delightful place for a holiday with family or friends. This old stone barn has been sympathetically converted into a beautifully presented holiday home, whilst still retaining its original charm with the exposed stonework and rustic beams. You are surrounded by countryside and fields with grazing livestock which will greet you on your morning walks around the lakes.
The bright and inviting open plan living and dining area has a stylish and well-equipped kitchen-area and offers a wonderful space to spend quality time together. With two comfortable sofas guests will feel warm and cosy snuggling up for an evening around the feature fireplace chatting over the day just gone and the new adventures awaiting you tomorrow.
Upstairs enjoy a great night's sleep in one of the three comfortable bedrooms, all furnished to an exacting standard and all with many extra little touches that go to make a stay here rather special. The en suite bedroom enjoys wonderful views of the lake and surrounding countryside and two further bedrooms, also with great views, share the main bathroom complete with spa bath; perfect to relax and unwind after a day out exploring.
Outside seating on the terrace is ideal for a spot of al fresco dining, enjoying sunsets and sunrises or simply admiring the views, and in the warmer weeks if a barbecue beckons, simply ask the friendly owner who will be happy to provide you with one. This is a truly magical setting for a long holiday or short break, so if you are looking for a bit of peace and tranquility this is certainly the place you can find it.
Otter Barn is one of a selection of fabulous properties at this wonderful location including neighbouring Badger Barn (4583), Kingfisher Barn (4584), Swift Barn (4585) and Swallow Barn (4586) so if you are looking to holiday as a larger group, you can book all five properties together.
Guests are free to wander the seven acres of shared grounds surrounding the barns to take in the fresh county air and maybe spot local wildlife or your woolly neighbouring sheep who may be grazing quietly in the lakeside paddock. Guests can fish for carp in one of the well-stocked lakes or for those interested in more tranquil pursuits find yourself a place to sit by the side and just relax in this peaceful setting.
There is something here for guests of all ages and whatever time of the year; enjoy a tasty picnic lunch on one of the tables surrounding the lakes or spend time watching the ducks who share this wonderful location. Take a short walk to the banks of the River Tamar nearby but be sure to bring your walking boots or wellies as when exploring your surroundings or experiencing the delights of Dartmoor and Bodmin Moor the weather cannot be guaranteed! Whilst in the area why not pay a visit to the gorgeous north Cornwall coast and its many beaches including Bude, Widemouth and Polzeath. There's plenty of charming towns and villages to explore, including the pretty fishing village of Boscastle and the fascinating Tintagel, a great place to discover myths and legends. The historic local town of Launceston is also very close by should you wish to browse the shops, pick up a treat in a cafe or pay a visit to the Norman castle.
