TwinNestled in the heart of the Lizard peninsula this boutique farm cottage offers luxurious living, perfect for couples and families alike – complete with a hot tub. From the moment you step through the door at Pheasant Cottage you are greeted by gorgeous interiors and your worries will float away. The beautiful Helford river is close by, which is wonderful for walking or enjoying the water, and the child-friendly beach at Kennack Sands is only a short drive away.
This newly renovated semi-detached cottage offers everything you might need for a break away – relish the peace and quiet and enjoy the far-reaching views. The only neighbours are those in the cottage next door and one other property across the lane, however privacy and peace and quiet are ensured. Built in 1638, the owners have preserved the charming original features in this cottage with a stunning lintel (thought to be from a shipwreck) over the fireplace and the gently sloping floors upstairs adding a quintessential charm to the cottage.
The sumptuous sitting-room has a cosy wood-burner for the cooler nights and two sofas to snuggle up on after a day exploring. The kitchen/diner has everything you might need to create a tasty meal – enjoy the fruits of your labour around the dining-table or under a parasol in the very private courtyard garden.
Upstairs you will find two lovely bedrooms situated at the front of the house and the family bathroom. The main bedroom has a king-size bed in which you can sit and gaze out of the window enjoying uninterrupted views of the beautiful countryside each morning.
There's plenty of outdoor space at Pheasant Cottage, with the courtyard garden offering a magnificent hot tub and a dining-table and chairs on the slate terrace with a fabulous outlook across the fields and countryside beyond. There is an area of lawn just perfect for children to play in safely whilst you relax with a glass or two of something chilled. Last but not least, the outhouse is perfect for wet coats, welly boots, wetsuits and beach kit (there is even enough room for a paddle board or two).
Guests at Pheasant Cottage need hardly be aware of the farm itself as the garden is so exceptionally private but if you would like to visit the farm, the welcoming owners are always delighted to show you around during your stay.
