The Tea Hut is situated up a private drive in High Hurstwood. Nestled in the picturesque Sussex countryside it is a great base from which to explore Ashdown Forest and the local towns of Crowborough and Lewes.

This beautifully renovated self-contained studio has an open plan design which cleverly incorporates the kitchen, dining, sitting and bedroom areas. There is also a separate shower-room with large shower. During the colder months take advantage of the under-floor heating and cosy up next to the wood-burner.

Outside is a courtyard with your own table, chairs and barbecue. It is a lovely spot where you can soak up the sun or enjoy al fresco dining. There is also a lawn and seating area which can be used privately.

The surrounding woodlands lead to some great walks. Within the grounds is a well-kept tennis court, available to use by prior arrangement with the owner next door.

If you fancy having a go at some pottery, the owner has her own studio and can offer pottery and ceramic lessons. Please book in advance.

Just across the courtyard from The Tea Hut is Medleys Barn (4476). This stunning barn conversion has two bedrooms and can be booked together with The Tea Hut to accommodate six guests.

Located in East Sussex on the edge of Ashdown Forest, the historic village of High Hurstwood comes within the High Weald Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Situated in the village is a church and a popular restaurant/pub. The neighbouring village of Buxted, just over two miles away, has two pubs, a shop and a direct train service to London. There are plenty of outdoor pursuits available in the area including clay pigeon shooting, golf and horse riding. You can also visit one of the many vineyards and sample some great English and Sussex wines. If you enjoy walking, with or without a dog, you are surrounded by beautiful countryside.

A short drive will take you to the county town of Lewes, famous for its annual bonfire celebrations and working brewery. It is also home to Lewes Castle and the Anne of Cleves Tudor House. Wander the medieval streets and visit the many bookshops, antiques shops, galleries, boutiques and craft workshops.

Enjoy a day out on the Bluebell Railway; a steam train which makes frequent journeys from Sheffield Park and East Grinstead, stopping at Horsted Keynes and Kingscote. This is a lovely way to take in the Sussex countryside. Sussex has numerous National Trust properties, historic houses and gardens to visit. It is also home to the annual Glyndebourne Opera Festival.

Looking for some retail therapy? Then visit the spa town of Royal Tunbridge Wells or the coastal towns of Brighton and Eastbourne which have some great shops, bars and restaurants.
