Nestled along a quiet country lane in a truly beautiful part of Cornwall, with spectacular far reaching views that stretch out across open countryside to Kit Hill and the tors of Bodmin Moor, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, this rural idyll is the perfect excuse to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life and totally unwind and relax.

Originally the home of the headmaster of the village school, it's up to you to set the timetable now and what an education it will be. Discover wonderful rambles along country lanes and footpaths that leave right from your doorstep, enjoy the delights of the Tamar Valley, head off for a day at the coast, or simply relax in the gardens allowing the birds and wildlife to provide the entertainment.

With comfortable country-style interiors to complement the setting, and those wonderful views from every room, you will feel at home from the minute you step inside. Lovingly tended gardens with pretty flower borders, sunny terrace and large lawns are a delight and will entice you outside at every opportunity. The friendly owners live next door and are there to provide you with a warm welcome and then leave you to enjoy their slice of heaven on earth in peace.

Babes in arms up to six months old are welcomed at Piran's Rest.

Dare to be dragged away from this idyllic base then this relatively unknown part of Cornwall will not disappoint. The Tamar Valley, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, offers miles of walks through wooded valleys and along the banks of the river. For adventures on the water there are various places to hire kayaks and canoes and if you fancy a bit of tree-surfing head off to Tamar Trails. Historians will delight at Cotehele (National Trust), with its spectacular gardens and a fascinating Tudor manor house and Pentillie Castle, a 2000 acre estate with breathtaking views across the river Tamar, offering garden tours, a summer season of events and the most highly recommended afternoon tea (booking essential)!

The championship golf course at St Mellion and the riverside course at China Fleet are some of the best you will play and the 'open air' moorland theatre at Sterts offers a summer season of theatrical plays and musicals so pack up a picnic and enjoy the show!

The dramatic landscape of Bodmin Moor provides a complete change of scenery, with its wide open spaces, rock formations that defy gravity, and charming moorlands villages with local pubs offering a good old dose of Cornish hospitality.

No trip to Cornwall is complete without a trip to the coast and with both within easy access which way to go? Head south and you'll find the charming fishing town of Looe and the long stretch of golden sands at Whitsand Bay, or north to the surfing beaches of Bude and Widemouth Bay or to the foodie heaven that is Padstow.
