A mere hop, skip and a jump from the sheltered bay in the pretty little hamlet of Port Gaverne and only a 10 minute walk from the popular fishing village of Port Isaac this gem of a property promises a special coastal holiday in an idyllic retreat.
Built 200 years ago, Tredore is one of a collection of cottages, set around a shared, sheltered sunny garden, that have been converted from what was once the Liberty Fish Cellars. Now it is beautifully styled throughout, creating a calm and restful interior that will have you set to Cornish time from the minute you arrive.
The spacious entrance hall is perfect for storing all that essential holiday gear and you'll enjoy mealtimes together in the kitchen/dining-room with its bird's eye view over the gardens below. The comfortable sitting-room invites you to cosy up, well you'll need to after a busy day lounging on the beach and with all that sea air you are sure to have a good night's sleep in the gorgeous bedrooms.
Outside the communal gardens are an oasis of calm, providing a wonderful sense of peace and tranquility, with a choice of places to sit out in the best of the Cornish sunshine and embrace the setting.
Set all on one level, on the first floor, access is directly off the lane. From your front door it's the shortest of strolls to the beach where you will also find a beachside cafe and the award-winning Port Gaverne hotel and restaurant - with the gorgeous smells that waft from the kitchen you'll find it hard not to be drawn in each time you pass by, and why not treat yourself, you are on holiday after all. For the more adventurous types, you can hook up with the team at Cornish Rock Tors who are also based by the beach and try your hand at coasteering, kayaking, paddle boarding and open water swimming.
A slightly longer walk and you will find yourself in the charming village of Port Isaac - which more recently the village has been put well and truly on the tourist map by TV's Doc Martin, The Fisherman's Friends, who occasionally sing on the quayside during the summer, and award-winning celebrity chef Nathan Outlaw, who has not one but two restaurants in the village. There's also a whole host of cafes, pubs and restaurants dotted amongst the traditional fisherman's cottages that line the narrow streets, along with shops and galleries should you want to take some Cornish treasures back home with you.
If you've got the walking bug there are miles of coastal footpath with breathtaking views on offer around every corner and for adventures on two wheels, a cycle along the Camel Trail will not disappoint. The beaches at Polzeath and Daymer are quite stunning and for more culinary delights hop on the foot ferry from Rock over to Padstow.
