A tranquil and secluded cottage in a beautiful rural location, offering complete privacy and wonderful views over The Lizard peninsula. This pretty cottage is only minutes from the charming Helford River and Gillan Creek – the ideal position to explore this unique part of Cornwall.
There is room for everyone to relax at Barvanjack; the kitchen, which opens into the light and bright conservatory, is the most sociable and fun place to spend time together. The beautifully refurbished sitting-room has a traditional inglenook fireplace with a lovely wood-burner to warm your toes and there is also a formal dining-room for entertaining. A handy utility-room for all your beach and walking gear is the perfect spot to leave the dog to dry off.
Up the cottage stairs you will find four gorgeous bedrooms, one en suite, along with the family bathroom. Three of the bedrooms enjoy wonderful views over this stunning part of Cornwall and you will immediately find yourself unwinding.
Outside there is a lovely gently sloping south-facing garden with a small covered ornamental pond (please supervise young children). Directly from the conservatory is a sheltered patio for those al fresco meals where all you will hear is the chorus of the songbirds.
Across the lane is a small meadow where children will love exploring, a perfect place for a game of hide and seek. The owners have thought of everything to enhance your stay at this property. There is even access to an outhouse for storing surfboards, kayaks and wetsuits.
Barvanjack is the perfect location for walks beside the Helford River and around Frenchman's Creek, or take to the water to discover the inlets and beaches and prolific wildlife. A ferry will take you across the river to the Ferry Boat Inn from where you can walk to Trebah gardens. The cottage is just over a mile from Manaccan village and The New Inn. The Shipwright Arms in Helford village has amazing waterside views and the Prince of Wales in Newtown St Martin, also about a mile away, is renowned for its excellent cooking and lovely garden. The Seal Sanctuary in Gweek is fun for all the family, and Flambards theme park in Helston is a fantastic day out too. Kennack Sands, Kynance Cove, Poldhu and Church Cove are all within easy driving distance. This cottage is a wonderful country escape at any time of the year.
