Pull up a chair on the verandah and sit back and enjoy the view that stretches out across the open countryside to the dramatic coastline and the Atlantic Ocean beyond - welcome to Haywain!
Less than a mile from the coast and a 20 minute stroll down the hill to the popular surfing beach of Trebarwith Strand, this cosy and traditionally furnished apartment is the perfect retreat to embrace life on the north Cornish coast with its picturesque fishing villages, spectacular beaches and coves and breathtaking coastal walks. You'll be spoilt for places to go but you may simply choose to while away many an hour on the verandah or lounging in the garden - well this is what holidays are all about.
Situated on the coastal road in the village of Trewarmett between the pretty fishing village of Port Isaac, made famous by television's Doc Martin, and legendary Tintagel, Haywain forms the ground floor apartment of an original 17th Century cottage.
The kitchen/dining-room is well-equipped for all your holiday catering needs and is well located for serving meals in the garden or in the entrance hall/sun-room, a lovely spot to enjoy a morning coffee.
The master bedroom has pride of place at the front of the apartment, taking full advantage of those wonderful views, making breakfast in bed inevitable.
At the back of the cottage, on the roadside, is the pretty twin bedroom and the cosy sitting-room with its warming wood-burner, a welcome sight on cooler evenings.
If you have family and friends who want to join you, Crowsnest (4167) forms the first floor apartment so this is a great base for everyone to gather.
You will want to make the most of the great outdoors and having a verandah and a lovely garden, with borders bursting with flowers, you have ample options to do this.
The north coast is a haven for water based activities so you can try your hand at surfing at Trebarwith Strand, join a boat trip from Port Isaac or enjoy water skiing, sailing and diving on the Camel Estuary at trendy Rock.
For ramblers, the Trebarwith Valley is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty offering great walking routes with the most wonderful views which of course, can be said for any part of the coastal path which is waiting to be explored. Conquer the castle at Tintagel, the legendary birthplace of King Arthur and find Merlin's Cave said to be where the great wizard lived - accommodation certainly has moved on since those days!
After all this fresh air and exercise you will need some nourishment and with two pubs and a cafe locally in Trebarwith you don't have to venture far to get your fill.

The thick stone walls at the front of the cottage in Haywain limit the strength of the WiFi signal in those rooms, so we suggest connecting in the rear rooms from the kitchen on.
