Thimble Cottage

8.9 miles SW of St Ives / Sleeps 3 (no children under 10)

7 Nights from £368 - £846

Gorgeous Thimble Cottage lies just inland from Pendeen Lighthouse and the crashing Atlantic Ocean in the far western peninsula of Cornwall. Set within a hamlet in the ancient landscape of west Penwith, the cottage offers the perfect base to explore one of the most beautiful stretches of coastline in the country. This terraced, former miner's cottage is cosy and warm having been recently renovated to a very high standard.

Oak floors run throughout the ground floor where the open plan sitting/dining-room has a roaring wood-burner; snuggle up here with a book after a day of exploring. The modern kitchen has all that you could want to prepare a gastro meal. Stairs lead up to the first floor bedrooms; one houses a king-size bed, the second a large single (4'6''). The beautiful bathroom is also up a step on this level.

Relax outside in the sun, and enjoy peace and plenty in the pretty garden, before you head off to visit one of the lovely harbour towns or beaches in the area.

Just a short walk across the fields brings you to the coast path - stunning in both directions, be it towards Zennor and St Ives or St Just and Sennen. A walker's paradise; relax along the way and enjoy the wonderful butterflies, birds and wild flowers, and watch out for dolphins and seals too. Then, with a little planning, there's even a bus service that can return you to your door.

A short drive away are the charming towns of St Ives, Penzance and Newlyn, and a visit to the open air Minack Theatre should not be missed.
