Yew Tree Batch is a truly peaceful detached house in a rural position in north Somerset, surrounded by a totally private and beautifully kept garden. There is a stunning terrace that runs along the full length of the house celebrating the panoramic views towards the Mendip Hills.
There are excellent walks nearby, including along the shores and woodland around Blagdon Lake just a short distance downhill from the hamlet, and up into the dramatic scenery of the Mendip Hills across the valley.
This spacious and calm holiday home is filled with light and has a great balance between unique character and modern day living. The sitting-room has French windows to the terrace for summer days and an open fire for out-of-season breaks. The separate dining-room is a lovely room for special holiday meals together and the kitchen/breakfast-room also has French windows to the terrace. Upstairs the three very individual bedrooms share a bathroom and separate WC – and for your convenience there is a shower-room downstairs too.
This part of Somerset enjoys some of the most varied scenery. Within easy distance of both Bristol and Bath for historic city day trips, you also have the unspoilt landscapes of the Mendips on your doorstep. The stunning line of hills is home not only to the famous Cheddar Gorge but other less known, but equally beautiful, routes and walking trails. Burrington Coombe and the Ebbor Gorge are very close by and after following the roads through the towering limestone cliffs – spot the grazing wild white goats – you will come to the most amazing vantage points with views right across the Somerset Levels high above Wells and Glastonbury.
Yew Tree Batch is a genuine home-from-home, in an area that offers its guests so much to explore. On the other hand, the house is so welcoming and comfortable that you may well just want to stay put and relax – the essence of what Yew Tree Batch is all about.
