Owlan, the Cornish for ‘Cow Shed’, is a lovely little barn conversion located in beautiful tranquil countryside, yet only a few minutes’ drive off the main A30, which provides easy access for getting out and about all over Cornwall. Nine steps lead you through the garden down to this cosy, semi-detached, single-storey barn conversion, which is the perfect retreat for couples or a small family. Two light and airy bedrooms sit at the rear, and all rooms including the open plan living area look out onto the gorgeous garden and patio. The cosy sitting-area has a large comfortable sofa and arm chair, and steep wooden stairs lead up to a mezzanine-area, a perfect den for the older children to chill out in (please note, there is limited headroom in this area). The south-facing garden is an absolute joy and brimming with shrubs and flowers in the summer, the perfect spot to enjoy a pot of coffee and chat over your plans for your day ahead. Your four-legged friend is very welcome too, although the garden is not fully enclosed, so close supervision is needed.
Step out of the front door and you'll find you are close to the delights of Padstow, with its numerous eateries, cute little boutique shops and galleries, whilst even closer you have the stunning beaches at Mawgan Porth and Watergate Bay – the perfect spot for a surf. There's really so much to do in this gorgeous part of north Cornwall and if you're looking to do something just that little bit special, why not treat yourself to a spa day or lunch at The Scarlet Hotel – recently voted one of the top 20 hotels in the UK. Set away from Owlan in a field above the drive there is a very small site for touring caravans and camping pitches, with the campsite office sitting next door to Owlan; so you may see a fellow holidaymaker from the campsite walking past. You have also a small working farm located near Owlan, with cows grazing in the nearby fields nearby which adds to the charm and uniqueness of Owlan.
