A gorgeous detached cottage tucked away on the side of a quiet wooded creek on the north side of the Helford, home to herons and scores of little egrets as well as migrating curlews and oystercatchers. This light-filled cottage has a sociable open plan kitchen/dining-room and the three bedrooms provide excellent accommodation for families or group of friends.
Solid wood floors with under-floor heating on the ground floor is perfect for keeping those toes warm on chilly days and with a double-sided wood-burner shared between the dining space and the sitting-room, the flickering flames can be enjoyed by all.
The stylish kitchen is very well-equipped and the calming blue colour makes this the heart of the home with a large island for chatting around or prepping food. Upstairs, three comfortable bedrooms offer wonderful views over the creek in this beautiful and tranquil location and the second bedroom has a Juliet balcony. Tucked away at the end of the house the spacious master bedroom has its own en suite shower-room with the second and third bedrooms sharing the family bathroom, for convenience there is also a cloakroom downstairs.
Pop across the quiet lane and your private gate leads you down to the south-facing terrace and garden where you can enjoy uninterrupted views over this tidal creek. In the garden you will find seating for six, where you can sit and watch as the tides come in and out, and take time to observe and listen to the wonderful wildlife around you. There are further steps down to the creek edge which is perfect for explorers (please take care on the steps and supervise children by the river).
Creek Cottage is in the small hamlet of Polwheveral, found down narrow country lanes which bloom in the spring. It is a lovely location to explore the Helford, full of beautiful scenery, walks and wildlife. The Trengilly Wartha Inn is only a short distance away, as is Potager Garden which is great for children and adults alike. Only a short drive away you have the sandy beach of Maenporth, or slightly further away is the stunning coastline of the Lizard peninsula. If you want to explore the towns for a bit of shopping there is Falmouth and Helston to ensure you get the Cornish fudge. Whether you are looking to explore Cornwall or relax, Creek Cottage can offer it all.
