Bedroom 1

Pound Farm Cottage is a hidden gem; this Listed thatched cottage has been thoughtfully renovated to create a spacious, stylish holiday home, retaining many of the original features, including an impressive ornamental Inglenook fireplace. The galleried bedroom has a super-comfy five-foot bed and views across the surrounding fields. The luxurious ground floor bathroom has an original roll-top bath, perfect for a long soak after a day of exploring the local area; the bathroom also has a separate shower.

Next to the bathroom, a stylish modern kitchen has all you need to create delicious holiday feasts. The cottage is next door to the owner’s home and has a separate driveway, parking and private south-facing garden, great for relaxing with a good book.

Situated on the outskirts of the village of Leigh, be sure to bring your walking boots, as there is a network of footpaths and cycle routes from the cottage that will take you directly out into the beautiful Dorset countryside; only one mile to the award-winning Chetnole Inn. The village also boasts a lovely village shop complete with a very small but cute cafe.

If you can tear yourself away from the tranquil surroundings of the Blackmore Vale, there are some fabulous places to visit, only a short drive away. The market town of Sherborne is just under six miles from Pound Farm Cottage and has some great independent shops, cafes and restaurants as well as the impressive abbey and two castles. Further afield are Mapperton House and Gardens and Stourhead House, with stunning gardens and lakes.

The World Heritage Jurassic Coast is 45 minutes away, with impressive cliffs and geological features that run the length of the coast to Exmouth, including Lulworth Cove, Durdle Door and Golden Cap. The South West Coast Path allows you to follow this stunning coastline and stop off at the many towns and villages along the route.

Lyme Regis is a great place to visit with the iconic Cobb and town museum detailing the life and significant geological finds of Mary Anning or visit the many cafes, restaurants and pubs for a leisurely holiday treat. Bicycles can be stored in a locked shed beside the cottage.
