Tucked away in this quietest of rural locations, Ridge Lodge is a hidden gem, with fabulous far reaching views over the Dorset landscape. This delightful cottage has been stylishly furnished and equipped to provide a great base for your holiday in Dorset. The open plan space has a fully fitted kitchen with modern appliances and the luxury of a Nespresso machine for slow relaxing starts to the day. The two double bedrooms each have a modern en suite shower-room with drench-head showers, five-foot double beds with Hypnos mattresses and lovely linens. A further single bedroom has the same super-comfy feel and the family bathroom has a double-ended bath for that relaxing soak. A large map on the wall helps you to plan your holiday adventures, or maybe you'd prefer to spend the day doing nothing in your holiday retreat just catching up with life and a good book. If you are feeling energetic there is a table-tennis table in the sheltered rear courtyard. Ridge Lodge welcomes you and your dog, so you can all enjoy a relaxing holiday together.
Nearby Beaminster has a great atmosphere and a good range of shops and places to eat; award-winning Brassica for a holiday feast or The Red Lion, both in the little town centre. Le Vieux Four has delicious French patisserie baked on the premises and almost impossible to resist. A short drive takes you to the World Heritage Jurassic Coast, where the beaches range from sand to shingle, but all with a view of the spectacular cliffs that make this part of the coast so appealing. The beach at Burton Bradstock allows dogs all year round and the Hive Beach Cafe serves locally-caught seafood and great cakes. This stretch of coastline is especially good for collecting fossils, but there are many inland visitor attractions in Dorset that will make a memorable day for children and adults; the Tank Museum at Bovington, Monkey World, the Etches Collection of Fossils, or visit the Dinosaur Museum in Dorchester, the county town of Dorset. If that all sounds a little too hectic, there are numerous places for a relaxing walk with your dog, in the beautiful countryside that surrounds you.
