All on one level and beautifully decorated and equipped, the open plan kitchen, dining and living areas allow you to share your holiday time together; whether sat on the verandah taking in the air with a coffee brewed courtesy of the Nespresso machine, reading a good book on the sofa or in front of the wood-burner on a cooler evening, Furrow Lodge is the perfect destination. One double en suite bedroom and a twin bedroom with family bathroom are stylishly presented with a gorgeous roll-top bath and drench-head shower, beautiful linens and bedding to make your stay as relaxing as possible.
The World Heritage Jurassic Coast is just 11 miles away at quirky West Bay, where you will find a vintage centre and the Watch House Cafe right on the beach. Further west takes you to Charmouth, which is a great beach for fossil hunting, then on to Lyme Regis. Lyme is a fabulous town with the iconic Cobb, a sandy beach, lots of independent shops, Hix Oyster and Fish House for a delicious lunch or supper, the Town Mill, fossil museum and the opportunity to hunt for fossils on the world famous Monmouth beach.
Just four miles from Furrow Lodge is the little town of Beaminster, which has some great shops to browse for delicious local produce and holiday indulgences. Other inland places of interest include Mapperton House and gardens, a fabulous manor house and valley garden, open during the summer months, and nearby you will find Forde Abbey, a privately owned former mediaeval monastery with some magnificent architecture.
A short drive will take you to Hardy country and the county town of Dorchester, where Thomas Hardy spent much of his life; maybe visit his birthplace at nearby Bockhampton. Dorchester has a Tutankhamun exhibition, Dinosaur Museum, lots of delicious places to eat and places to browse.
