4.2 miles NW of Falmouth / Sleeps 10 + cot

7 Nights from £1100 - £2751

Oh my, what a lovely family home this is! From the approach lanes flanked by whimsically wind-sculpted, moss-covered trees to the fabulous countryside views, and the spacious living accommodation to the wonderfully comfortable beds and luxurious linens, Higher Little Lidgey makes a superb get-together house. There is private parking in abundance, a huge, flat lawn for ball games and a further meadow for dog walking or den-building, all set down a private lane with just one neighbour (out of sight) beyond. The location offers seclusion and rural tranquility but is just a couple of miles from the historic market town of Penryn and four miles from the busy, colourful, seafaring town of Falmouth, steeped in maritime history and bursting with independent shops, galleries, bars and restaurants. Ticking all the right boxes for that special gathering, whether it be a landmark birthday, anniversary, multi-generation family holiday or friends' reunion, this is the perfect place to enjoy time together.

There is space for everyone to spread out in Higher Little Lidgey, with a big, L-shaped open plan living-room. It has a sitting-area with sofas around a wood-burner, a bespoke, hand-made kitchen with granite work surfaces and a dual fuel range cooker – perfect for cooking big family meals – and a light-filled dining-area with doors out to the garden, a lovely place to linger over relaxed holiday meals. A large, dual-aspect sitting-room has French doors out to the lawns, a Smart TV for family entertainment and a wood-burner for toasting your toes in winter. There is a utility-room, a separate cloakroom and a double bedroom tucked away for those who like a little privacy. Upstairs, the master bedroom has a large en suite bathroom and Juliet balcony looking out towards the far reaching views. Two 'zip and link' bedrooms offer flexibility and there's a further double bedroom, with en suite facilities. The family bathroom tops off the accommodation, with a free-standing roll-top bath and separate shower cubicle. Falmouth and the surrounding beaches offer watersports tuition of all kinds, with sailing, surfing, kayaking and stand-up paddle boarding all on offer. There are fabulous Cornish gardens nearby at Trelissick, Glendurgan and Trebah, with The Lost Gardens of Heligan and the Eden Project slightly further afield. The north coast surfing beaches and wonderful coastal walks are just a 20 minute drive away, with huge sandy beaches revealed at low tide at Perranporth, Porthtowan and Gwithian, all patrolled by RNLI lifeguards from Easter to the end of October.
