The Apple Store is an idyllic romantic retreat for two. Nestled within the stunning Devon countryside and offering the most beautiful and uninterrupted views, this cosy little retreat is just the place to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life, so why not sit back and enjoy the finer things this lovely location has to offer. The fully enclosed patio-area provides the ideal place to spark up the barbecue and dine al fresco – safe in the knowledge that your four-legged friend can't treat him/herself to one of the magical nearby walks unaccompanied! After a full day of exploring your surroundings, returning to the toasty under-floor heating and cosy open plan living area is a very welcoming setting indeed; or maybe a quick shower before going for your dinner reservation at the prestigious Lewtrenchard Manor – just five minutes away – is the plan. The Apple Store is attached to the owner's farmhouse. This is a great bonus should you require help or guidance on how to maximise your enjoyment in this beautiful spot, however if total peace and quiet is what you require – say no more!
The Apple Store is located on a working farm which provides an array of activity and great spectator viewing. However, to don your walking boots and wander off into the countryside would be my suggestion, as the surrounding area is a real treat for those who enjoy a ramble in such unspoilt countryside. Or perhaps a more action-packed outing is what you seek. If so, you are only a short car journey away from the very popular Roadford Lake Country Park, which boasts a large activity centre. Why not hire a canoe or paddleboard or try your hand at sailing. The lake is well stocked with brown trout for the enthusiastic angler and fishing boats can also be hired from the activity centre. There are lovely walks around the lake and off-road cycle tracks. Dartmoor National Park and all its charms are within easy striking distance and if the National Trust's Lydford Gorge is on your 'to do' list, this is less than five miles away. The deepest river gorge in the south west, the spectacular 30 metre Whitelady Waterfall is a sight to behold. The ancient stannary town of Tavistock is nearby and the dramatic north Cornwall coast is within an hour's drive. After a full day of action and adventure, the cosy and welcoming delights of The Apple Store await. On a sunny evening, setting up camp in your patio courtyard with a barbecue sounds the perfect way to end the day, especially as your host offers a lovely selection of home-reared Red Devon beef, including steaks, burgers and sausages (on request); free-range eggs are available daily. Or if you prefer, crack open a bottle and whip up a feast for two in the fully-equipped kitchen and snuggle up on the couch for the evening. Whatever your preference, The Apple Store is perfectly placed for all.
