Aldercombe Barn is a terrific family and dog friendly holiday home, only a short drive from the excellent beaches of Bude and Widemouth Bay. Situated at the heart of the working farm and surrounded by glorious Cornish countryside, this 16th Century semi-detached barn conversion assures you peace, tranquility and plenty of space as you only share this idyllic setting with the neighbouring Owners and one other residence.
Accessed along a mile-long private drive, Aldercombe Barn is beautifully presented throughout, bursting with charm and character yet ensuring the utmost in comfort, so you are assured of a wonderful stay whatever time of the year you visit. The flexible accommodation offers a sitting-room and separate snug, ideal for those who want a bit of time alone, and three bedrooms on one side of the house; one double, one twin and one with 'zip and link' beds which can be either a twin or double; and a fourth bedroom with an en suite shower-room, which is accessed via a spiral staircase over the snug, perfect for those who want some privacy away from the other guests.
There's a further wet-room and a luxury bathroom with free-standing bath which will save any queuing in the morning. The delightful sunny garden will please young and old alike, with plenty of room for ball games, swings to play on and a terraced area with garden furniture, which is the perfect spot for dining on balmy summer evenings.
Walkers will be in their element with trails to discover leading right from your doorstep, or head to the coast and take in the scenery along the rugged dramatic section of coastal footpath running from Hartland Point in the north to Boscastle in the south. The village of Kilkhampton is only a mile away and here you can stock up on provisions, grab a takeaway or sample some local ale at one of the welcoming pubs.
You'll enjoy a traditional seaside experience at Bude as you build sandcastles on the beach, ride the Atlantic rollers, enjoy a round of crazy golf, or indulge in an ice cream as well as the obligatory pasty! Closer to home why not take to the water at Tamar Lakes and try your hand at sailing, windsurfing or kayaking, or for those who are less energetic wander around the nature reserve to spot some wildlife. This is great base for a holiday and once discovered we are sure it will become a firm favourite!
