Prepare to be wowed by the most spectacular of sea views from this irresistible apartment for two, set right on the water's edge, in the historic Fort Picklecombe on the beautiful Rame peninsula. Built in the late 1800s as part of Plymouth's harbour defences, the fort has been brought back into the 21st Century now housing luxury apartments.
Perched on the first floor, Dodo's Nest, affectionately named after a beloved family member, has been beautifully furnished to ensure that the view inside matches up to the one on the outside. From the minute you step inside you will be drawn to the view from the large windows and, thanks to the cleverly designed open plan living area, there will rarely be a moment when you won't be able to gaze out to watch the shimmering blue ocean and the comings and goings on the water.
Babes in arms up to six months old are welcome at Dodo's Nest.
Accessed from the underground parking area by a lift or stairs, Dodo's Nest offers the most comfortable of stays. The open plan apartment offers a stylish kitchen, a sumptuous sitting-area area, BT Sports TV package and the beautiful travertine plasma fire creates a lovely glow, making this a terrific retreat all year round. You may dine inside, or why not make the most of the balcony and enjoy meals in the open air with the most spectacular of backdrops. The bedroom area, accessed by a couple of steps, has the most comfy of beds adorned with luxurious linens and many an hour is sure to be spent lazing under the covers simply soaking up the view.
For days out, there's plenty to discover in this so called 'forgotten' corner of Cornwall. The Fort itself has beautifully landscaped gardens, a private harbour and at low tide, a little beach. For more beaches Whitsand Bay has three glorious miles of golden sand to delight and the pretty twin villages of Kingsand and Cawsand provide a step back in time, with narrow streets, colour washed cottages and a great choice of pubs and cafes to recharge those batteries. Bounding the Fort are 850 acres of Mount Edgcumbe Country Park with its historic house, Grade 1 Listed gardens, independent shopping and terrific walks. If it's city life that floats your boat, take the ferry over to the maritime city of Plymouth to enjoy the delights of the historic Barbican and Plymouth Hoe and grab a bite to eat in one of the great eateries at the city's trendy Royal William Yard.
