The glittering water of Talland Bay is seen in all its glory from both the decking and house at Phoenix; a stunning view that is utterly mesmerising on sunny days. With plenty of sociable space, Phoenix is the perfect place for families or groups of friends to gather and enjoy some quality time together. Steps lead down from the parking space to a central hallway with the living accommodation - focused around a dual-aspect wood-burner - on the seaward side and three bedrooms and a family bathroom to the rear. Several rooms have doors out to the wrap-around decking where you can sit in peace as the sun sets at the end of an adventurous day and watch the sky turn gold and red above the waters of the bay. Light, contemporary, comfortable and welcoming, Phoenix is a holiday home where happy memories are made.
The pastel coloured kitchen/family-room is a great place to gather, with a breakfast-bar and sitting-area for those watching others cook up a storm. Every appliance is provided, with two fridge/freezers to ensure your holiday drinks are chilled to perfection! There are fabulous views from the sitting end of the room, and from the open plan sitting/dining/sunroom too. The master bedroom has an en suite shower-room and doors out to the deck, with the second double bedroom, single room and family bathroom also on the ground floor. A spiral staircase leads up to the fourth bedroom with three single beds - take care with younger children on this - which has Velux windows and a clever cabrio window which changes from a large pitched roof window into a balcony in seconds. Phoenix is set in the pretty hamlet of Porthallow with Little Phoenix (3789) next door, so an extra couple could join the holiday while retaining a degree of privacy. Porthallow has a thriving four star luxury hotel offering both brasserie and fine dining menus, with two beach cafes providing traditional seaside fare and evening barbecues during the summer season. Talland Bay is a hidden gem, off the beaten track and favoured by those who prefer an unspoilt coastal retreat (no burger bars and seaside shops here!). The pebble beach is easily accessible with sand and rock pools revealed as the tide drops back, all sheltered by low cliffs on both sides. Polperro is found to the west, a quaintly picturesque little village with a tiny harbour, home to smugglers in the past and now a fascinating mix of tiny terraced cottages, eclectic shops and eating places. Looe is to the east, a busy working harbour offering shark fishing and diving trips, coastal tours, a sandy beach and narrow streets to explore. There are several renowned Cornish gardens nearby and plenty of events to enjoy in the local area with the Fowey Festival of Words and Music in May, Looe Food Festival in June, Port Eliot Literary Festival at the end of July and the Looe Music Festival in September. So bring your walking boots, your intellectual curiosity, your taste buds and your dancing shoes and come to explore this wonderfully varied part of Cornwall from the comfort of delightful Phoenix.
