The wonderful Wagon Linney is the ideal place for a family-together break, set on a 260 acre farm in the heart of east Devon, just a few miles from the popular market town of Honiton and close to the Blackdown Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. This sturdy, super-size safari tent is the middle tent in this wide open setting where children can race out across the meadow whilst staying carefully in sight and parents can enjoy a glass of wine on the veranda watching the sunset across the fields. The electric hot tub is of course a special treat - you don't even have to wait for it to warm up, it will be ready when you arrive - and the barbecue and picnic table make al fresco cooking/dining a must. Inside, the tent is an absolute delight with a king-size wooden cabin bed and dressing-area and two further bedrooms, one with a king-size bed, the other with twin beds and all with thick sprung mattresses and lots of storage in the form of quirky apple crates. Beyond is a super-size 5-foot walk-in shower (complete with WC, wash-basin and heated towel rail too) and there is a further wash-room with WC, wash-basin and heated towel rail. The wood-fired range (all logs are provided) has an integrated oven - and will keep you toasty in the cooler months - and there is also an electric hob in the kitchen-area. The squishy antiqued leather sofa is perfect for cosying up on of an evening and the dining-table has plenty of room for all to sit round and enjoy a scrumptious supper together. This really is glamping at its very best - there is even a fridge with freezer compartment, USB sockets for charging those essential devices, all the lighting is cleverly wired in so there are no sockets, the luxury of partial central heating (in the bedroom areas, shower-room and cloakroom) and even a wired in hair-dryer too!
If you can bear to tear yourselves away, there is plenty to see and do nearby. The small village of Plymtree is a short half mile stroll where you can try out The Blacksmith's Arms and the community run village shop which has all the basic supplies you will need as well as a good selection of wine for those sunset evenings on the veranda (or in the hot tub!). The Cathedral City of Exeter is just a 30 minute drive and it is very easy to reach the stunning Jurassic Coast as it stretches along the east Devon coast (including the towns of Sidmouth, Budleigh Salterton, Branscombe and Beer) and across the border into Dorset and Lyme Regis. The market town of Honiton, with its renowned antiques shops, and Exmoor and Dartmoor - great for walking - are within an easy drive. The National Trust's Killerton Estate, with 800 acres of woodland - ideal for walkers and cyclists, and visitors attractions including The Bear Trail, Escot Park, Crealy Adventure Park, The World of Country Life and Seaton Jurassic are all nearby too.
