This delightful barn conversion, surrounded by 280 acres of glorious Cornish countryside, is the perfect retreat for couples seeking a slower pace of life and time to unwind.
Approached along a mile long uneven track, in the heart of the working farmyard, Jemima Cottage only shares this setting with the welcoming yet discreet owners and Rosamund Cottage (4006). The patio-area invites you to sit out and enjoy the countryside setting, spot some wildlife, do some stargazing or watch the comings and goings of the farmyard.
It's hard to believe that from such a rural setting you are only a 20 minute drive from Cornwall's rugged north coast, where you can experience a complete contrast in landscape and increase the pace...just a little.
All on one level, Jemima Cottage has a wonderfully spacious open plan living-room with country-style kitchen and dining areas, wooden floors and comfy sofas in front of the toasty wood-burner, a welcome sight after a day out exploring all that this area has to offer.
The bedroom offers the most comfy of king-size beds, dressed with crisp white linens, and the stylish bathroom completes the inside package. Outside the barn is surrounded with open lawned areas with views across the countryside, that is waiting to be explored. Your four-legged friend will be in seventh heaven but please remember to avoid any fields with livestock. Going out and about for the day, there are spectacular coastal walks stretching from the wild beauty of Hartland Point to the legendary castle at Tintagel.
Beach days beckon at Widemouth Bay, Crackington Haven and Sandymouth, to name but a few, or pop into the traditional seaside town of Bude and meander through the shops, indulge in some delicious ice cream or Cornish fudge, or simply take a stroll along the canal. Further walking abounds at Tamar Lakes or why not take to the water and try your hand at sailing, kayaking, paddle boarding or canoeing. All in all this is a great base for a holiday!
