This peaceful cottage is in a gentle swathe of unspoilt countryside between the Somerset coast and the beautiful Quantock Hills, a 9,500 acre Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty that you can see in the distance.
Grange Farm Cottage was created from one of the original barns when this was a working farm and much of the history and atmosphere of the setting has been preserved by the Owners who live in the adjacent Grade II Listed Georgian farmhouse.
The cottage is single-storey, with two generous sized en suite bedrooms and a really large open plan living area with a wonderful wood-burning stove (all your logs are provided). Two sets of south-facing French windows open onto a fully enclosed and very private lawned garden with mature shrubs and a gorgeous natural lily pond (take care).
As you pull into the driveway you will see the lovely Georgian farmhouse where the Owners live; to one side is a traditional orchard which you are welcome to enjoy - complete with chickens in their hen run; to the other, and straight ahead, is the barn and its beautiful walled garden.
One of the great things about this setting is that it is so accessible from the main road and yet so tranquil, surrounded by countryside views, with only a mile and a half of country lanes - with plenty of passing places - to get here.
Children are very welcome, the age restriction is simply due to the unfenced pond in the garden (please take care). This part of Somerset is ideal as a base for exploring the coast - Kilve Beach is a stunning Jurassic beach with amazing rock formations; the Quantock hills are superb for walking and horse-riding well off the beaten track and with views as far as south Wales; and for history - the Cathedral City of Wells, colourful Glastonbury and medieval Dunster with its National Trust castle are all an easy drive away. Wembdon village has a shop and a pub and is just one mile away.
