Close to the golden sands of Godrevy and Gwithian Towans, The Pole House provides the perfect haven for a unique holiday. This detached, Japanese-style house, constructed around Douglas Fir poles and previously owned by Kate Winslet, is highly individual both inside and out. A pine open-tread staircase ascends to the wooden verandah encircling the house, which offers views over the garden and covered pond below (please take care with children). Accessed by a separate external entrance there is a private, self-contained double bedroom on the ground floor; a lovely room with a traditional Japanese bath. Bring the whole family, holiday with good friends or come for a romantic stay for two, this is a holiday home where many great holiday memories will be made.

Constructed from a variety of natural woods, the spacious, contemporary-styled open plan living-room, warmed by the central wood-burner, has a high-vaulted ceiling that rises over the galleried double bedroom and bathroom on the top floor. A holiday in The Pole House will be one to remember however active or inactive you like to be. Visit the golden sandy beaches of Godrevy and Gwithian just up the road, (the beach at Mexico Towans is dog-friendly all year) bring your surfboard, kayak and wetsuits or simply watch from the comfort of your beach towel. Walk the coast paths, explore the historic mining trails or browse the shops, with popular St Ives only a short drive or train ride away and a good selection of supermarkets and eateries in nearby Hayle, there is something here for everyone. The house is based in the pretty village of Angarrack, formerly a centre of the mining and quarrying industry which is dominated by the towering viaduct that carries the Cornish mainline railway over the Angarrack River, walk up Steamers Hill to the local pub for a drink or dinner and on the weekend why not sample their popular Sunday lunch or the evening quiz, it is downhill all the way home!
