This lovely cottage will delight those who love rural tranquility, with walks from the door and a two acre field for children to play and dogs to walk. Set down a well-kept farm lane there is nothing to disturb the peacefulness with just the occasional walker or horse rider passing along the nearby footpath. Renovated with the utmost skill by the Owner who lives next door – an expert in traditional building methods – Moo Barn offers all the comforts of modern life. There's central heating and a high pressure shower, an open plan living-room, airy bedrooms with comfortable beds and lovely linens. Furnished and decorated to an exacting standard, this a lovely place to relax in comfort and return to at the end of a day spent exploring.
Moo Barn is nestled mid-way between north and south coasts, the perfect location for exploring Cornwall's many attractions. Named because the adjoining field is home to young calves in the summer, children will love seeing them looking curiously over the fence as you bask in the afternoon sunshine or enjoy evening drinks in the enclosed courtyard. A gas barbecue is provided so you can cook up some lovely Cornish meals with locally-sourced food and sit back stargazing after the sun has set. A lawn with a gate at the end opens into a big field where children have freedom to run around, play games and generally let rip and dogs can be exercised off the lead (the fences are stock-proofed so dogs can't get in with the cattle, giving guests peace of mind). Decorated, furnished and equipped to a wonderfully high standard, this is holiday accommodation at its best. The single-storey accommodation has an open plan oak-floored living-room with a Shaker-style kitchen, farmhouse dining-table and sofas set before a contemporary wood-burner, with a Smart TV and Netflix providing entertainment for every taste. High ceilings add airiness and light, while super-thick modern insulation means the cottage is cosy and snug whatever the weather. The welcoming Owners live next door with their children, chickens and ducks (kept away from the cottage) and two friendly dogs, and are happy for guests to bring dogs as well (supervised around the fields). They will show you around and then leave you in peace but are next door if you need them. This is a great location for walkers, with many public footpaths and wonderful walks, including the renowned Saints Way and the Luxulyan Valley (a World Heritage Site) within a ten minute drive. Gardeners will appreciate the Eden Project, The Lost Gardens of Heligan, Lanhydrock and the Duchy of Cornwall Nursery, all within a 20 minute drive. Cycle hire is available nearby and Lanhydrock has wonderful cycle tracks to suit everyone, from family groups to serious off-roaders. On the south coast, Fowey offers picturesque fisherman's cottages set above narrow streets lined with eclectic shops, a wonderful variety of eating places and a multitude of yachts out on the water. The ancient fishing village of Mevagissey is equally picturesque with fishing boats moored alongside yachts and fresh fish available straight off the boats at the harbourside. The north coast beckons with majestic cliffs, amazing views and coastal footpaths which meander up and down between tiny isolated bays and superb surfing beaches.
