If you yearn for the romance of living under canvas but don't want to give up your creature comforts then this could definitely be the holiday for you. Situated close to the Cornwall and Devon border, in a truly unspoilt part of the Devonshire countryside, Rosewood provides the ideal escape for the whole family or a romantic retreat for two.

Step inside and you are greeted with an interior befitting of the countryside setting with beautiful rose patterned linens, delightful painted furniture and bunting galore and that's just for starters. The main yurt boasts a fitted kitchen-area that is equipped with all the kit you need (including an oven and fridge) and you can serve up your culinary delights at the dining-table positioned to take advantage of the view. Pull up a rocking chair in front of the cosy wood-burner or snuggle up together on the sofa which is also a sofa bed for a fifth person. Taking pride of place is the locally crafted king-size bed where many an hour can be spent stargazing through the clear dome.

From the main yurt there is a beautiful door into the adjoining 'Little Rosewood' yurt, which houses the full-size bunk-beds and the most stunning of bathrooms complete with a gorgeous free-standing bath, shower attachment, wash-basin and proper flushing toilet - this really is the height of glamping!

Standing proud on its huge decking-area where you can enjoy the far reaching views from the wood-fired hot tub. Rosewood is set in almost an acre of meadow adjacent to over 50 acres of woodland with a host of wildlife as your near neighbours.

Your choice of pursuits is endless; fire up the barbecue and enjoy meals al fresco, listen to the birdsong, enjoy the freedom of the meadow, which has plenty of space for games and the odd game of tag, or simply sit back relax and recharge those batteries. You even have access to the nearby shed, complete with washing machine, tumble-drier and heated towel rail.

The owners, who live on site, will provide you with a warm welcome but ensure your privacy throughout. They are always on hand, should you need them, running their garden machinery business where occasionally you may hear the odd lawn mower or chain saw starting up. Whether here for a short break or a week's stay there's plenty close by to keep you occupied.

You are staying in Ruby Country, named after the local Ruby Red cattle, where you can truly embrace rural life. Don your walking boots and discover footpaths which lead right from your doorstep or for those who prefer two wheels there are cycling routes to enthral.

If you like messing about on the water take a trip to Tamar Lakes and try your hand at windsurfing, kayaking or simply have some fun in the pedalos. If you fancy some sea air, in only 15 minutes you can be on the stunning north Cornwall coast where you can enjoy traditional seaside fun in abundance, ride the Atlantic waves or take to the coastal footpath where breathtaking views greet you around every corner. And after all that exercise why not stop by at the weekly farmers' market in Holsworthy to stock up on some local fayre?
