Whitelake Farmhouse is a short distance inland from the sandy surfing beaches of the north Devon coast, in glorious unspoilt and tranquil countryside – offering the very best of both worlds. The farmhouse achieves the perfect balance that dovetails an historic building with a stunning contemporary interior. The restoration of this lovely holiday home celebrates its great character – an inglenook fireplace in the main sitting-room, ancient beams and some quirky low doorways downstairs – alongside a striking stylish kitchen/breakfast-room and four exceptionally luxurious bedrooms. The treat continues outside with a beautiful cottage garden at the front, a large enclosed garden and patio at the back, a wood-fired hot tub (not available from the beginning of November to the end of January) and even a separate children's play-area shared by two other cottages here.
One of the best things about a stay at Whitelake Farmhouse is the excellent flexibility of the accommodation. As well as the large and sociable kitchen/breakfast-room there is also a separate dining-room so that you can enjoy memorable holiday meals together. One of the four bedrooms is downstairs and the king-sized double bed can be set up as twin beds if preferred. There is a separate downstairs WC to go with it. Upstairs there are two further double bedrooms, one of which can also be set up as a king-sized double or as twins, and then a twin bedroom. Two of these bedrooms share a 'Jack and Jill' shower-room and there is then a separate family bathroom too! You will be spoilt for choice, everyone will have plenty of space and all the rooms are beautifully and individually presented to a very high standard. The outside space is something else – a beautiful cottage-style garden fronts the farmhouse with little pathways winding through the flowerbeds and shrubs. The back garden is huge, fully enclosed – with a little stream running along one border – with a sun-filled patio and best of all a fabulous wood-fired hot tub which is available from April to the end of October. Once you have mastered the art of lighting it – help is on hand if required – and heating the water to your required temperature, you will love the totally relaxing experience of luxuriating underneath the stars.
