On your doorstep is the beautiful Penrose Estate, a large area of wooded country around Cornwall's largest natural lake called The Loe and features woodland tracks, stretches of coastline and open parkland. This is the perfect backdrop for a day out by foot or on bicycle with a stop at the Stables cafe for some light refreshment or all the way down into Porthleven for a bite to eat.
Venturing further afield the beauty of the Lizard peninsula and Helford River are both just a short drive away so maybe a cream tea at Lizard Point, take in the views at Kynance Bay and then pop down to the sandy beach and harbour at Coverack, which is dog-friendly all year round.

The beach at Porthleven, great for walking on and relaxing but swimming is not advised due to the dangerous currents.
The Penrose Estate wraps around the lake at Loe Bar, such a pretty area to explore with paths through the woods.
One of the old stables belonging to the estate is now a cafe, perfect for a stop for some light refreshments.
The sandy beach at Church Cove, Gunwalloe is only a short drive away.
