This is the front door for this south-facing cottage. The patio is a delightful sun-trap with pretty planting to make it really attractive.

Enjoy having time to yourselves. The kitchen is very well-equipped if you don't want to eat at the fantastic Lord Poulett Arms in the village.

The entrance from Abbey Street - the cottage is to the right and your dedicated off-road private parking is to the left. There is plenty of turning space.
The Jurassic Coast is a short drive from Hinton St George - usually about 40 minutes.  This is Lyme Regis right on the Dorset/ East Devon border
This is West Bay at Bridport.  There is a lovely drive here via Crewkerne and Beaminster - stop in both for a wander before getting to the beach.
South Somerset has a number of historic houses to visit.  This is Montacute near Yeovil.  Barrington House is close, as well as Lytes Carey Manor
All the National Trust houses have wonderful gardens and walks too.
Tintinhull House has this beautiful garden to stroll in.
The Somerset Levels are home to several RSPB bird sanctuaries - really well worth a visit to see the amazing range of birds.

South Somerset is a great base as it is so easy to reach, the countryside is gentle with a real range of landscapes from the Somerset Levels – home to some amazing RSPB wildlife reserves – to the Mendip and Quantock Hills and a little further afield the wilds of Exmoor National Park. Bordering Dorset and east Devon you can easily explore the stunning stretch of the Jurassic Coast and the South West Coast Path. There are a number of local historic National Trust properties to visit – Montacute House, Barrington Court and Lytes Carey are the nearest, all with amazing manor houses and beautiful gardens to explore. On your doorstep the village is filled with beautiful golden hamstone cottages and houses. The village gastro pub, the Lord Poulett Arms, is recognised as one of the best places to eat in the area – do book in advance! The village shop is a thriving focal point for the community and offers an excellent range of fresh local produce. As if this isn’t enough – you can stroll to the tea shop within two minutes, which opens at 10am providing cakes, sandwiches and snack meals, as well as cream teas.
