Spring Cottage is in the small village of Bradworthy, a short drive from the amazing north Devon and north Cornwall coastline. Bude is great for its sandy beach and Hartland Point for dramatic walks along the coastal path above the cliffs and coves. The cottage is at the heart of this busy working village giving you the benefit of a friendly local pub, Post Office, village shop, garage with a traditional old-fashioned working petrol pump and even a hairdressers. The cottage has a welcoming family feel the moment you step inside. Beautifully renovated but with plenty of original features this cottage will provide a peaceful escape at any time of the year. Spring Cottage has a double and a twin bedroom and a family bathroom upstairs, and a separate shower-room downstairs. The kitchen/breakfast-room, sitting-room and dining-room link from one to another giving a great feeling of space but making the cottage very cosy at the same time.
The cottage garden is very pretty and with the driveway gates closed, is safely enclosed. Around at the back of the cottage is a very private patio-area where you can enjoy eating in the sunshine or having a barbecue. Staying here will give you a perfect balance of sampling village life but being able to switch off and enjoy peace and quiet and time to yourselves too. Further afield but a very easy drive are the rugged beaches of north Devon and north Cornwall. You can choose an exhilarating coastal path walk, a day exploring rock pools in a steep sided cove or surfing on one of the wide sandy beaches. It's great to have such a variety along this stretch of coastline. Bude is a very popular surfing destination whilst Hartland Point offers a challenging section of the South West Coast Path well off the beaten track, with cliffs dropping down to tiny rocky bays. Clovelly is a fascinating glimpse back into the past – an historic fishing village clinging to the cliffs – and beyond the pretty coastal town of Instow there are miles and miles of unspoilt sandy beaches.

A harbour scene at Bude.
The historic village of Clovelly is well worth a visit. You do need a ticket to go down to the village (you can cheat and take a landrover drive back up to the top as it is very steep).
The cobbled street of Clovelly, leading down to the harbour.
This section of the South West Coast Path is very beautiful if challenging.
