Set into the side of a hill within 20 acres of the Owners’ private grounds of meadows and woodland, including a large wildlife pond. Little Coombe Barn is gorgeous. Furnished and equipped to an exceptionally high standard, the barn has all the comforts of home and more. The stunning living-room is on the first floor and has deep comfy sofas arranged around a warming wood-burner. With plenty of room around the dining-table, the stylish kitchen-area has all mod-cons and enough equipment to rustle up some spectacular meals. The pretty riverside village of Dittisham is just down the lane and the naval town of Dartmouth, with a great mixture of shops and restaurants, is a short drive. Should you have a need for extra accommodation, Little Coombe Cottage (3852) is a hop, skip and jump away from the barn, and can accommodate five guests.

The master bedroom is on the first floor and has access to the outside via a couple of steps as well as French doors out to its own private terrace. With a super-king size bed, fresh crisp bed linen and soft cushions, this is a lovely room. And, if it gets exceptionally warm, this bedroom even has air conditioning.

The main entrance into the property is on the ground floor and down here is another sitting-room, known as the snug, which has a 50’ Smart TV. Also on the ground floor are two more bedrooms, both with en suite facilities. The double bedroom also has a door out to the garden. With under-floor heating throughout, you will be warm and toasty whatever the weather is doing.

Outside, as well as a pretty garden and patio-area in front of the barn, there is a raised terrace behind the property with patio furniture and a barbecue – a great spot for an evening meal. For those with a competitive spirit there is a games-room complete with pool table, table-football and table-tennis. Or why not put your tennis skills to the test on the beautiful tennis courts (tennis rackets and balls can be found in the games-room). The games-room and tennis courts are communal and shared with guests at Little Coombe Cottage (3852), which makes for extra competition should you wish.

South Devon needs little introduction and there is so much to do in the area. Apart from exploring lovely little villages full of higgledy piggledy thatched cottages or investigating some great beaches, you can take the steam train along the estuary to Totnes and get a boat back to Dartmouth. A foot ferry goes from the nearby village of Dittisham over to Greenway, Agatha Christie’s former home – do book in advance at busy times.

All in all, a perfect holiday retreat.
