Within a few minutes' walk of Hayle harbour, with its quirky shops and numerous eateries, or a slightly longer stretch to three miles of golden sands; this sumptuously furnished first floor barn apartment above the Owners' residence is oozing character in keeping with its 18th Century history. The space is split-level and has a separate dining-area leading down into a fabulous sitting-room sporting a vaulted ceiling, wood-burner and reading gallery above with distant views (please take care on the narrow, open-tread staircase). Whether you want to jump on a train to nearby St Ives, take a short drive to one of the many local beaches with your surfboard, launch from the local slipway or explore the birdlife at the nearby estuaries – it's all here.

With a constant breeze off the Atlantic the area is well-known for its surfing and windsurfing, and famous for the three mile stretch of soft golden sand, stretching in a gentle crescent from St Ives bay to Godrevy Lighthouse, with superb panoramic views of St Ives, Carbis Bay and Godrevy Lighthouse. Hayle was also the first town in Cornwall to be awarded 'Walkers are Welcome' status and is a RSPB reserve; if you are lucky in summer you may catch sight of an osprey, and during spring and autumn it is an ideal place to see migrant wading birds, gulls and terns or simply enjoy the scenery.
