This tranquil and elegant period farmhouse has a luxurious contemporary interior, spacious flexible accommodation and a beautiful enclosed garden. The glorious west Dorset location for Catsley House offers a rural setting with panoramic countryside views above the timeless village of Corscombe, within walking distance of the friendly Fox Inn which serves local ales, delicious food and welcomes four-legged friends. A few miles away discover the bracing cliffs along the Jurassic Coast where you can stretch your legs and breathe in the sea air. This sun-filled property is an inspirational and creative country house that truly embraces its guests. With a drawing-room, open plan kitchen/breakfast-room and separate dining-room that opens onto the sheltered lawned garden, this is a perfect choice for special occasions or for simply stepping back from everyday life.
This is a country house that really celebrates its surroundings. Doors lead from the drawing-room, the kitchen/breakfast-room and the dining-room into the wonderful sunny garden with its level lawns, patios and planted borders; ideal for al fresco meals or just lazing away a summer's day with the papers or a good book – perhaps borrowed from the library in the drawing-room? Flagstone floors in the hall and kitchen add character to this historic stone farmhouse and if you want to enjoy a special supper you can dine by candlelight in the dining-room off the kitchen. The accommodation is set over three floors and the top floor has the feel of an exclusive bedroom suite with plenty of space for its own little living-room between the bedroom and bathroom areas. The other three bedrooms are just as luxurious and the whole house is filled with the atmosphere of a unique private gallery, with paintings and antique furniture and a lovely French Provencal feel. A nearby town to visit is Beaminster with its historic square and independent shops; The Bridge House Hotel or Brassica right in the square are lovely places for lunch or supper. Bridport is a great market town with its street markets and thriving high street, and at West Bay just a mile on from Bridport you can challenge yourselves to one of the Jurassic Coast's steepest sections of the South West Coast Path high above the beach. The Watchhouse Cafe right on the pebbles is a must for fresh fish at lunch time – the sister to the famous Hive Beach Cafe at Burton Bradstock just a few miles further along the coast.
