Mays Cottage is perfection with its charming accommodation, enclosed garden and secluded location close to the shores of Port Isaac, Polzeath and Rock. Pack your bikes, surfboards and flip flops, as you really could not wish for a more perfect holiday retreat.

The garden is surrounded by camellias in the spring, basks in sun all day long, and is the ideal spot to enjoy an al fresco meal. Inside, the cottage is a home-from-home with its open fire and bespoke kitchen. Upstairs, the bedrooms are all gorgeous and, although there are no en suites, the bathroom is very spacious and there is the added bonus of a shower-room downstairs.

Mays Cottage will be your secret little bolthole.

Just down the road from Mays Cottage, the St Kew Inn nestles in the valley offering wonderful food and gorgeous open fires. Of course, if you are on a foodie exploration you are spoilt for choice at Mays Cottage: Nathan Outlaw has restaurants at Port Isaac and Rock, and Rick Stein, as everyone knows, has restaurants all over Cornwall, and a cafe, deli and seafood school in Padstow.

On the north coast of Cornwall you also have a wonderful choice of beaches – Polzeath is fantastic for the children to learn to surf and the sunsets are amazing. If you have your four-legged friend with you, then Trebarwith Strand is a dog-friendly beach, and everyone loves the Port William pub overlooking the cliffs. Every day can be filled with fun and all kinds of experiences; you will be very happy to return to the warm welcoming interior and open fire of Mays Cottage, where you can just kick off those flip flops or walking boots and relax.
