You will be thrilled with the comfort found in this luxurious cedar-clad yurt, with under-floor heating and a wood-burner to keep you warm and toasty all year round. Pheasant Cedar Yurt, approached by a steep slope and a few steps, is really spacious, with an eight metre diameter main yurt housing living, dining, fully fitted kitchen and bedroom areas (the latter has a king-size bed), plus an en suite shower-room and separate cloakroom.
The entrance hall/corridor leads to the smaller yurt, where there is a triple bunk-bedroom and another shower-room with WC and wash-basin. The large deck juts out over the slope, and boasts its very own wood-fired hot tub so you can enjoy views through sun-dappled woodland across the valley whilst waiting for the water to heat up. What a fantastic place!
Park up in the shared private parking-area, load the wheelbarrow with your luggage and toddle up the quite steep track to Pheasant, which is set apart from Owl, Buzzard and Woodpecker, on the woodland slope. The deck is enormous, a room in itself, and perfect for al fresco meals or relaxing with a book or a glass of wine while gazing at the spectacular views – you are up close and personal with nature here, and the children will love the freedom to roam the surrounding woodland.
Inside, there is a TV, Blu-ray DVD player, Bluetooth sound system, electric cooker, microwave, fridge with ice-box and a dishwasher; even a washing machine tucked into a cupboard with an iron and ironing board. If you wish to connect with the 'real' world, WiFi is available, and if you can tear yourself away from this lovely spot you may enjoy a stroll to the village of Dittisham, a mile down the road, or catch the foot ferry to the National Trust's Greenway across the River Dart.
You can hire a motor boat, sailing boat, paddle boards and kayaks locally. Alternatively, why not try out the local pubs and cafes, take a trip to Dartmouth and explore its shops, galleries and restaurants, or simply relax on the lovely beach of Blackpool Sands?
