Hidden down a lane on the fringes of the Lizard is a grand Victorian house with truly spectacular, panoramic sea views across to Old Lizard Head, Caerthillian Valley Site of Special Scientific Interest, Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and the world famous Kynance Cove, which can actually only be viewed from a handful of properties because of its position. This amazing location is shared only by Frog Rock Cottage (2892) and Swans Nest which are part of this unique building.
At any time of year, from the moment you walk into the beautiful hallway, with original staircase and high ceilings, you will experience the warm welcome of Kynance Bay House. This super property, as featured in The Times newspaper and Ideal Home, offers space for all; a cosy sitting-room with comfy sofas and open fire with Carrera marble surround, an elegant dining-room perfect for a family meal, a baby grand piano with keys waiting to be tinkled, and a sun-room with some of the most breathtaking views in all of Cornwall. Mind you there are stunning sea and surf views from most rooms in this lovely house.
Owners comment; "We feel there is a magical, enchanting quality to this house. Not perfect (which house ever is?) but magical nonetheless. It's a house that is meant to be shared and we invite you to discover the magic of The Lizard from our special corner of it. Be our guest but be prepared to leave a little bit of your heart here when you go".
If you are looking for a holiday home with something for everyone – incredible sea views, great walks on the doorstep and friendly pubs and restaurants a short walk away – then look no further.
Walkers can access the coastal paths just a few steps away from the house, enjoying the sights and sounds of the resident seabirds including Cornish choughs, gulls and cormorants or the migrating flocks using Caerthillian Valley in the Lizard National Nature Reserve as their 'first and last' stop.
Whether clambering over rocky cliffs or exploring nearby beaches at low tide, you will work up an appetite before going back to the house to prepare a tasty meal in 'the kitchen with a view to amaze' or heading up to the village and letting someone else worry about the washing up!
The Lizard peninsula, the most southerly part of the British mainland, is a place apart; a combination of the mild maritime climate and unique geology has produced an area with a distinctive character, well-known for its rare and unusual flora and where the famous call of the Cornish chough is never far away (often in the house garden actually). The property is perfect for walkers, surfers, budding botanists and geologists who want to study Caerthillian, lepidopterists in search of the butterflies of The Lizard, wildlife lovers, bird watchers and of course anyone who is charmed by the grey Cornish seals who live in the surf at the bottom of the lane (and can be seen most days as at least 23 named and tagged seals live at Lizard Point.)
Kynance Bay House shares this fabulous location with its next door but one neighbour Frog Rock Cottage (2892) - a delightful cottage for two/three situated behind the main house. These two delightful properties are separated by a bijou cottage named Swans Nest. The new owners live on site with their friendly cat (who may pop round to say hello). They are committed to offering you a 'home from home' experience with all the privacy, tranquility and comfort that Kynance Bay House is renowned for, however they are at hand if you have any issues during your stay.
