Close to the busy little town of Tavistock, tucked away in a leafy lane in a very pretty part of Dartmoor, Coachman’s Cottage is just delightful. Whatever the weather, the wood-burner and full central heating ensure it is always cosy. There is a contemporary feel to the decor, a high-vaulted ceiling in the sitting-room and a sunny conservatory which doubles as a dining-room. Two steps lead up to the well-fitted galley kitchen and the bedrooms are just as delightful, with crisp white linens, fluffy pillows and colourful throws. The second bedroom has a single bed with another three-foot single bed underneath – these can be set up as twin beds or zipped together to make a double bed but space will be limited.
The shiny bright shower-room is up-to-the-minute with lashings of hot water, great after a bracing walk on the moor with the dog – and the moor is on the doorstep so the dog will be in doggy heaven. Nearby Tavistock is an interesting town with one or two good restaurants and a bustling daily Pannier market. If wanting a day out then both the south and the north coast are less than an hour’s drive and you may well even wish to venture further west into Cornwall. So whatever the weather, this delightful cottage is sure to make you feel very welcome indeed.
