Cedar is perfect for couples, a beautifully appointed and spacious retreat offering a wonderfully chilled-out holiday experience.

There are floor to ceiling windows in the open plan living-room facing out over a big glass-sided deck, with sun loungers looking across lawns to woodland and fields. A private hot tub is set into the deck outside the French windows of the bedroom, with colour-changing underwater lighting for night time dips.

Within the surrounding five acres is an indoor heated swimming pool with 24 hour access, a gym and tennis court, woodland walks, an orchard and a lovely ornamental lake. Restaurants, shops and galleries are five miles away in Falmouth and Truro and the superb north coast surfing beaches are just 20 minutes by car.

Single-storey and with level access, Cedar is entered through a big utility-room/hallway where beach gear and surfboards can be off-loaded before moving into the open plan living-room. The kitchen-area is fully equipped, including an all-essential wine fridge, and the sitting-area has a Smart TV with Netflix and an iPod dock so music can be streamed in every room.

The bedroom has a beautiful carved Provencal-style bed, super-king size for added luxury. The en suite bathroom has under-floor heating, a walk-in drench-head shower and an oval free-standing double-ended bath.

Cedar is part of The Emerald, an award-winning development which is the only truly zero carbon holiday destination in the country having been awarded Code 6 status, the highest possible grading for eco efficiency. Within the five acres of shared grounds is a solar farm which generates all the energy The Emerald needs and more. There is also a useful Tesla charging point for electric cars at The Emerald (please bring your own adaptor for other makes). The owners politely ask that you state on arrival if you plan to take advantage of this service and to pay them via cash or bank transfer before departure.

The hi-spec, super-insulated cedar-clad houses include Cedar and its semi-detached mirror-image Fern (2825) for couples, Coast (2822) accommodating six; there is alsoThe Gatehouse (2826), a beautiful single-storey cottage accommodating four, set slightly apart from the others so offering more privacy.

The properties (except The Gatehouse) are accessible for wheelchairs, with level thresholds, ground floor bedrooms and double-width walk-in showers.
