Riverside Cottage

Cargreen / Sleeps 4 + cot*

7 Nights from £500 - £1150

Looking for the perfect retreat set in a dream location, where the only passing traffic is on the water, then look no further than Riverside Cottage. Part of a converted 18th Century warehouse, set on the edge of the River Tamar in the peaceful Cornish village of Cargreen, this gorgeous two bedroom cottage enjoys glorious views across the water to the rolling fields of Devon and the historic port of Plymouth.

Enter through the communal hallway and once inside you can still enjoy river views from almost everywhere. Two sets of sliding doors in the open plan living room lead out to a spacious terrace, which offers the best seat in the house, and on chillier days, fire up the toasty wood-burner and enjoy the views whilst snuggled up inside. Both bedrooms have stylish en suite facilities and doors leading out to a shared balcony; a wonderful spot for morning coffee, with, of course, those fabulous views providing a stunning backdrop. If you want to take to the water, there's a shared slipway for a canoe or kayak and there's plenty of secure storage for these and bikes.

If you can drag yourself away from this magical spot, this is a superb base for exploring Devon and Cornwall. Head to Cornwall's south coast to discover hidden bays and coves and maybe try your luck at crab, mackerel or even deep sea shark fishing at the traditional seaside town of Looe. Cross the water to explore wild and rugged Dartmoor, or if its city life that floats your boat call into Plymouth to enjoy the delights of the historic Barbican and Plymouth Hoe and grab a bite to eat in one of the great eateries at the city's trendy Royal William Yard.

The National Trust Properties of Saltram and Cotehele are within easy access, garden lovers will be enthralled at The Garden House and Port Eliot and Golfers can put their handicaps to the test at St Mellion and the China Fleet Country Club. In fact, there's so much to do that one visit won't be enough but that's ok, for once you have discovered this gem of a property, we are sure you will be back time and time again!
