This cottage is an absolute gem; beautifully decorated and furnished to offer the utmost comfort and relaxation. The ground floor bedrooms have thick wool carpets, crisp linens and luxurious mattresses making lying in bed all day very tempting. The master bedroom has a sheltered terrace where you can enjoy your morning coffee and listen to the birds. There is also a west-facing patio at the front of the property with a lovely picnic bench for a glass of wine or any alfresco meal. The family bathroom and guest cloakroom are also on the ground floor.
Upstairs, the open plan living-room has industrial-style lamps, original floorboards and a contemporary wood-burner facing the large corner sofa. Toast your toes while reading a book, watching a film or listening to your favourite music on the iPod dock, snug as a bug in this centrally-heated, double-glazed Victorian cottage. Devoran is a lovely village with terraced cottages, elegant Georgian houses and wonderful creekside walks. Herons, curlew, egrets and oystercatchers can be seen at low tide, and swans nest on the riverbank. The Old Quay Inn, just up the lane, offers a friendly welcome and great food, perfect after a day exploring.
Close to the meandering waters of Devoran Creek, tucked into a peaceful courtyard setting, semi-detached Stable Cottage offers the best in holiday accommodation. Books and games provide entertainment, or you can relax in front of the Smart TV. This is a great location for lovers of the outdoors, with walkers able to access creekside trails right from the door, and coastal footpaths around Falmouth and the Lizard peninsula are within a few miles. Gardeners will find inspiration at the National Trust's Trelissick Gardens just up the road, at the on-going restoration of the local Enys Gardens or in the wonderful sub-tropical gardens of Trebah and Glendurgan on the Helford River.
Just a couple of miles from the Cathedral City of Truro and only slightly further from the beaches, marinas and shops of the historic maritime town of Falmouth, this lovely cottage offers a wonderful base for easy exploring.
