Stable Cottage is an absolute gem; beautifully decorated and furnished to offer the utmost comfort and relaxation. The ground floor bedrooms have thick wool carpets, Designers Guild linens and luxurious mattresses. Upstairs, the open plan living-room has industrial-style lamps, original floorboards and a contemporary wood-burner facing the large corner sofa. Toast your toes while reading a book, watching a film or listening to your favourite music on the iPod dock, snug as a bug in this centrally-heated, double-glazed Victorian cottage. Devoran is a lovely village with terraced cottages, elegant Georgian houses and wonderful creekside walks. Herons, curlew, egrets and oystercatchers can be seen at low tide and swans nest on the riverbank. The Old Quay Inn, just up the lane, offers a friendly welcome and great food, perfect after a day exploring.
