This is a great base for walkers exploring the Wessex Ridgeway or for cyclists, the cycle routes of west Dorset.
Meadowbank is in a great location for exploring west Dorset. Dorchester, the county town of Dorset and home to Thomas Hardy, is only a 30 minute drive; children will love the Dinosaur Museum, where they can see fossils and dinosaur skeletons.
Take the Jurassic Coast road between West Bay and Weymouth for magnificent views in both directions, but be sure to stop at Burton Bradstock, where you will find the Hive Beach Cafe and the Seaside Boarding House, both serving fabulous locally caught seafood.
Lyme Regis is an easy day trip, where you can spend the day searching for fossils or the best ice cream in Dorset.
