SingleThis sunny south-facing cottage is sat perfectly on the edge of the beautiful village of Netherbury. If you are looking for a peaceful, rural setting to spend your well deserved holiday, then look no further. Meadowbank is a semi-detached property offering you the idyllic retreat from your day-to-day stresses.
The large, enclosed garden is a great sun-trap to sit and enjoy the warmth and fresh air of the west Dorset countryside. In this level space you are able to relax on the patio and feel a weight lift off you as you take in the unspoilt rural views, it is the perfect spot for some al fresco dining, or even just to enjoy a glass of something yummy whilst savouring the sights and sounds of the sleepy countryside.
Heading inside, you will find the thoughtfully kitted-out kitchen that contains all the culinary needs for your stay so you can cook up a delicious feast and not find yourself lacking any utensils. After a long day exploring what the local area has to offer, you may find yourself drawn to the cosy sitting-room so that you can cuddle up on the sofa and enjoy the roar of the wood-burner while winding down to some TV or even a good book, it is ideal for those out-of-season breaks. Upstairs, the bedrooms also boast the same uninterrupted rural outlook. There are two double bedrooms and one single, which adds some extra flexibility for families. The beds provide a restful haven with their comfortable mattresses and soft sheets, you are sure to get some well needed rest here!
If you can tear yourself away from the homestead, you may find yourself looking for some holiday activities. Meadowbank is perfectly located, as you will find yourself spoilt for choice with so many places to visit that are practically on your doorstop. If you find yourself itching to explore the local countryside, there are a network of footpaths that lead into the historic town of Beaminster with its traditional square, independent shops (and a Co-Op for convenience) and some really lovely restaurants for those meals out. Meadowbank is also a great base for walkers to explore the Wessex Ridgeway or cyclists to cycle the routes of west Dorset.
Just a short drive away is the famous World Heritage Jurassic Coast with its award-winning beaches and cliffs. If you are looking to go slightly further afield, the county town of Dorchester is just a 30 minute drive away where you can enjoy the weekly markets and shops on offer. Dorchester is renowned for the famous novelist and poet, Thomas Hardy, who resided here. Children will love the Dinosaur Museum, where they can see fossils and ancient dinosaur skeletons. Alternatively, why not take a drive along the Jurassic Coast Road between West Bay and Weymouth for the most magnificent views, but be sure to stop at Burton Bradstock, where you will find the Hive Beach Cafe and the Seaside Boarding House, both serving fabulous locally-caught seafood.
Lyme Regis is an easy day trip, where you can spend the day hunting for fossils or the best ice cream in Dorset. Whatever you choose to do, you are assured to make fond memories with the family.

Meadowbank is one of a pair of farm cottages, in a stunning hilltop position, with a large enclosed garden and fabulous open views.

The parking area to the side of the cottage is plenty of space for 2 cars.

The local pub is at Waytown, approximately one mile from the cottage along a country lane or a 20 minute walk across fields. There is a lovely beer garden with amazing views.

The glorious view from Lambert's Castle to Charmouth, which is just a few miles from Bridport.
