This high quality property is in a glorious rural setting in south Somerset, just a 20 minute drive from the stunning Jurassic coastline at Lyme Regis in Dorset. Purtington Barn Cottage is exceptionally spacious with a large sitting/dining-room with two sets of French windows onto the sheltered patio and the beautiful gardens beyond. There is a galley style kitchen and a separate utility-room - both well equipped for your stay. The two comfortable bedrooms for the three guests accommodated here have unspoilt countryside views across the valley. One has floor to ceiling windows so you can lie in bed and enjoy the views. This room has a large en suite bathroom and there is a second excellent sized bathroom too. The cottage adjoins the Owner's home but is very private.

The gardens here are a delight with lovely places to sit and relax tucked around hidden corners. Enjoy the stream-side seat at the bottom of the garden or have a picnic by the wildlife pond and watch the wildlife in the conservation meadow. You can also make the most of the nearby Cricket St Thomas Estate Spa and swimming pool with a day pass. Somerset offers real variety, from the famous Somerset Levels to the stunning Mendip and Quantock Hills. A bit further afield is the Exmoor National Park. If you head to the coast you will find the most beautiful chain of little east Devon fishing villages such as Beer and Branscombe, the Regency town of Sidmouth, and a bit further east, Budleigh Salterton. This most peaceful of retreats offers free internet access that is perfectly sufficient for emailing and for access to the web.
